Just saw this post on X, and I tend to agree...

Really and truly was there nobody with any substance the Democrats could have put forward. What on earth did they expect. The bar was so low.

She gave a cracking speech.

I was outraged earlier about women that have died I n texas due to abortion law and women ringing all about trump because of food prices but didn't like his personality as if a civil claim about him raping carol was OK

That's exactly how I felt!

It's like, look at what we could have had.

Then look at what we are stuck with.

I was hoping she would call for unity and acknowledge that people feel unloved and overlooked. And set out a need to listen to the electorate who have decidedly spoken.

She’s just made a very dignified concession speech unlike the previous person to loose a presidential election

The difficulty anyone has in making a concession speech is that they will always be judged against John McCain in 2008, and generally find it very difficult to compare

Even just her saying that it's important to accept the result, as that's what a democracy is,

Also don't understand the criticism over it starting late - these big speeches are always late. God knows how much time I've lost to watching an empty podium outside Downing Street, and I don't even follow politics particularly closely.
