Where is Kamala?

Just saw this post on X, and I tend to agree...

"Kamala lost as she campaigned - a coward who couldn't face the media, couldn't handle the pressure. Didn't even have the character required to concede on election night. Went home to sulk. The opposite of presidential material."

Really and truly was there nobody with any substance the Democrats could have put forward. What on earth did they expect. The bar was so low.

She gave a cracking speech.

Why is the dark side winning so much lately. It's not fair.

I want the goodies in power

Because people around us are selfish cxxxts and no I don't or won't mince my words and no I won't ever stop I go viral on twitter with my calls to lbc. I was outraged earlier about women that have died I n texas due to abortion law and women ringing all about trump because of food prices but didn't like his personality as if a civil claim about him raping carol was OK

Littlemissgobby · 06/11/2024 21:33

Yes it's like them game shows look what you could have had then you get the crap prize like a mug donald trump

That's exactly how I felt!

It's like, look at what we could have had.

Then look at what we are stuck with.

EasternStandard · 06/11/2024 21:42

I suppose there's not much you can say other than we lost but keep going

I mean I didn't love it but what else can you go on about after conceding, not much really

I was hoping she would call for unity and acknowledge that people feel unloved and overlooked. And set out a need to listen to the electorate who have decidedly spoken.

She is a graceful orator

BotanicalGreen · 06/11/2024 21:46

She spoke well and was dignified and gracious. What have they done!

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 21:46

Come back Kamala, come back!

Well it's not like those young black women sobbing their hearts out in the crowd now are part of some privileged elite that have everything handed to them on a plate, is it?

It's so sad this is what gets me is that the other side don't understand this isn't just about voting. It isn't even about some people try to say it's about a team. This is not football. This is real life and I find that those on the right, don't understand this.

GB News???? Only ever watched it once and felt like bleaching my eyes after!

Neighbours87 · 06/11/2024 21:48

She’s just made a very dignified concession speech unlike the previous person to loose a presidential election

The difficulty anyone has in making a concession speech is that they will always be judged against John McCain in 2008, and generally find it very difficult to compare

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 21:51

Even just her saying that it's important to accept the result, as that's what a democracy is,

Really got to me,

As that's so different to what Trump said when he lost.

She's so much more advanced

Give me Kuenssberg and Maitlis any day of the week. GB News is dumbed down shite.

BarbaraHoward · 06/11/2024 21:51

I thought she spoke very well, and held it together well. Tim Walz looked so emotional.

No idea why she's being criticised on here for not saying more of substance - what substance is there in a concession speech?

Also don't understand the criticism over it starting late - these big speeches are always late. God knows how much time I've lost to watching an empty podium outside Downing Street, and I don't even follow politics particularly closely.

He's the definition of a narcissist! Hardly "oblivion" either!

SpidersAreShitheads · 06/11/2024 21:54

I just wondered when Trump was going to start talking about all the voting fraud, and when he was going to demand recounts again?

Because surely, voter fraud is voter fraud, and not just when he loses? Right? Right?

GB News is as bad as listening to James O’Brien, only the bullshit lasts all day rather than only 3 hours.

HellsBalls · 06/11/2024 21:36

Fecking hell, what a shyte orator. She talked a lot and said not much. Just noise. Need to be better to be the POTUS.
Like a parody.

Like Trump, you mean??

HellsBalls · 06/11/2024 21:56

adriftinadenofvipers · 06/11/2024 21:55

Like Trump, you mean??

No, I mean like Harris, and Biden tomorrow.
I hope they have a bit of compassion and don’t let him speak.

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 21:56

She looked quite Happy to lose.

It's probably a relief in some ways.

I remember Michelle Obama said that when they got into the white house, and their lives totally changed in every way , she did think

"What have we done to ourselves".

I'm one of the 2 million "reform lot" so guess that's why I like it! 😊

Well that speaks volumes doesn't it?! Anathema to most of the rest of the millions living in the UK!

adriftinadenofvipers · 06/11/2024 21:58

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 21:41

Ah I wish we'd had her as president instead.

I wish we literally had anyone else as president but Trump! Perhaps not Putin.
