Where is Kamala?

Just saw this post on X, and I tend to agree...

"Kamala lost as she campaigned - a coward who couldn't face the media, couldn't handle the pressure. Didn't even have the character required to concede on election night. Went home to sulk. The opposite of presidential material."

Really and truly was there nobody with any substance the Democrats could have put forward. What on earth did they expect. The bar was so low.

She’s licking her wounds.

The Democrats would have walked the election if they’d fielded a half decent candidate.

They didn’t.

She is poor at deeper discussion, debates and interviews. She did not go through the full process and primaries like other candidates did. She failed to engage with voters who mattered in swing states.

Add that on to the last three and a half years which have been poor for the Democrats and the party themselves making some very questionable decisions (ie picking Biden for a second term in the first place), it was clear for weeks she was going to lose.

I’m shocked so many people thought she was going to win, and not only that, by and landslide.

Regardless of that, she should have came out to address those who were waiting for hours to hear from her last night. I think that was really poor behaviour. We all as humans understand that losing is hurtful, but you need to be made of stronger stuff if you want to be a leader of one of the largest countries in the world.

Mickey Mouse should have won if pitched against Trump!!

Thought it was a great speech.

MichaelandKirk · 06/11/2024 21:33

Not particularly inspiring. Bit of a yawn fest

I guess there's not really a lot she can say after losing to such a man, so it's just word salad and platitudes

Could have been worse though ... but so much better if it had been a decent candidate and they'd won

SweetcornFritter · 06/11/2024 21:38

Cracking speech Kamala.

adriftinadenofvipers · 06/11/2024 21:38

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/11/2024 20:15

They did indeed, MillyMichaelson, but put it this way ... if the incoming results had been going Kamala's way does anyone suppose she'd just have scuttled off and left someone else to suggest the faithful go home?

As PPs have said this is about grace under fire and leadership skills, and to many she'll just be confirming that they did right to reject her

When they've just re-elected the worse President in history who has yet to concede his loss four years ago??

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 06/11/2024 21:39

The commentator on GB news just said it feels like he's been asked if he wants ketchup or mayo with his word salad, having watched that speech.

Liesmorelies · 06/11/2024 21:39

Great speech and very well-delivered. How anyone finds Trump a good orator is baffling.

But she is its like star wars she's like the good side and the other side well darth vader etc. She come across as caring I know which one I like

Oh I don’t disagree but the approach doesn’t seem to win elections. It’s like Brexit all over again.

LadyGabriella · 06/11/2024 21:39

I think the use of the fighting imagery was not great.

Ah gb news what a joke of a entertainment channel appeals to those reform lot

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 21:40

I like when she said that she accepts the decision. That in a democracy it's very important to accept the vote.

Very different to when Trump threw his toys out of the pram four years ago, at the voting results.

grou · 06/11/2024 21:40

The speech was terribly generic. Minimal substance. Surprised she kept telling people to fight

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 21:40

She came across very well.

I like that she said in a democracy she respects the decision and she is going to hand over the power peacefully.

It will probably calm down any potential riots.

fanaticalfairy · 06/11/2024 21:41

LadyGabriella · 06/11/2024 21:28

Why was she telling people to fight?

She wasn't, she told them to keep fighting... As in keep on trying to do the "right" thing.

Can only imagine the reaction if Trump had taken so long to concede defeat. 'He's trying to overthrow democracy!!!!'

May I remind you that Trump has yet to concede defeat in 2020?!

Why is the dark side winning so much lately. It's not fair.

I want the goodies in power

I suppose there's not much you can say other than we lost but keep going

I mean I didn't love it but what else can you go on about after conceding, not much really
