To be incensed that a man cost council tax payers £63,000 for insisting he had a gender fluid Daschund?

TorghunKhan · 17/09/2024 18:05

£63,000 could have paid for an awful lot of things for the poorest families in Cambridgeshire, instead, thousands of hours and a huge pile of cash has been paid out because of some dickhead, virtue signalling in a meeting

https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/gender-neutral-daschund-social-worker-wins-63-000-discrimination-payout/

This brave woman did what we all need to do, stood up, called bullshit on something patently absurd, and instead of supporting her, her bosses called her "nasty" and excluded HER from meetings! She's a social worker!

WTF is going on? Is it the backwards decade where we all do the opposite of what's sensible?

I thought Lizzie (the GC social worker) took the council to the tribunal? Cut legal aid and she would just have been sacked with no recourse.

You don't get legal aid for employment tribunals. She crowdfunded the legal fees and many women on MN donated.

Another quote from the Critic article:

She [Director of Human Resources] also complained that Pitt was not prepared to prioritise the “lived experience” of her colleagues and that she instead “focused on reciting facts and scientific data, including statistics about gender minorities.”

Well those damned facts and scientific data, huh. Don't they just get in the way.

I can’t believe she actually said that - she must be so embarrassed, surely, hearing that back?!

GailBlancheViola · 17/09/2024 21:55

Amazing how the lived experience of women and lesbians is never prioritised, acknowledged or listened to by adherents of this brain rotting ideology, on the contrary it is always dismissed with a lovely side order of threats.

Agree

And on that basis, the 'lived experience' of the dog is actually what she challenged. On what basis of that 'lived experience' did the twatting owner deduce that the dog identified as gender fluid? Confused

GailBlancheViola · 17/09/2024 22:03

Quite.

Fgfgfg · 17/09/2024 22:06

The dogs owner said ‘I identify my dog as gender fluid'.

Does he not understand the basics of trans ideology and how violent it is to assign a gender without consent? It's not for him to say.
Only Pablo truly knows what gender he/she/they is/are.

GailBlancheViola · 17/09/2024 22:15

You are forgetting Fgfgfg that in gender ideology world that doesn't apply when it is the ideologues doing it, they make up and change the rules as the mood takes them.

SpanielRadcliffe · 17/09/2024 22:23

They need one of these dogs to sort them out ...

Mind blowing.

What a stunning dog😍 @SpanielRadcliffe

Thevelvelletes · 17/09/2024 22:48

At least the dog is a legitimate tail wearer.
Joking aside how the fuck has society arrived at this point.im sure that money could have been put to a multitude of better uses.

It's Cambridgeshire County Council. I think they and Cambridge City have form for being weird like this.
One cut working hours to a 4 day week, same salary.

I thought the 4 day week led to no drop in service provision and better recruitment. So hardly mad.

GameofPhones · 17/09/2024 22:58

The reverse is actually true service provision dropped dramatically and was bad on every metric except the the imaginary ones that the woman who pushed it through was using in her thesis on the benefits of a 4 day working week 🤔

Sorry, I voted YABU.

I totally agree, it is galling that public finances have been piddled away on this.

A gender fluid dachshund indeed! Talk about projection and anthropomorphism!

But....

There needs to be, unfortunately, more of this.
Only when employers get a financial walloping will the rights to hold and express one's own beliefs be respected. There also needs to be more legal precedent set.

Persons believing sex matters and women's safe spaces should be just that should not be forced into silence, punished nor should they be forced to lie to affirm the feelings of people who invent their own reality.

The taxpayer has to take the hit when the employer is public sector. Maybe some proportion of the tax paying public think it's worth the hit. I know I do.

Bluescissorsbluepen · 17/09/2024 23:37

Whenever someone says “the social worker had it in for me/never liked me/made up their mind from the start” I take it with a huge pinch of salt. It’s a story I hear a lot at work. But, actually, if this is the level of emotional maturity that working legitimate sanctioned social workers can have maybe the whole thing is a racket. Surely, surely someone has to cast an eye over this guys notes to make sure he can handle facts and data without snivelling all the time?!

Mummytothearkbuilder · 18/09/2024 00:08

I feel so cross about this! I work in this Local Authority within children's social care and we are constantly having to provide a monumental about of evidence to increase the support a child receives. We are told all the time that there isn't money in the pot and budgets are being squeezed. This money could have helped so many vulnerable children and families.

That said I am glad the SW stood up for what she believes. I'll be ready to complete the updated mandatory training!

TorghunKhan · 18/09/2024 00:39

wrongthinker · 17/09/2024 20:00

What a waste of everyone's time and money.

If I lived in Cambridgeshire I'd be kicking up a stink.

It's a fucking dog, jesus wept.

you filthy bigot 😂

I see your logic in a way, but the OP was clearly complaining about the Council disciplining the claimant, not the claimant, as a result, taking her case to the tribunal. So I think you may have voted the opposite way to what you meant to.

Not according to independent analysis by the Univerities of Cambridge & Salford.

"Of 24 key performance indicators monitored by the Council, analysis by the Universities of Cambridge and Salford found 22 improved or remained the same."

That's a good point. What would that social worker do, if he was working with a child whose parents want to follow the evidence of the Cass review and use therapy and support instead of drugs and surgery? If he thinks facts and data are symbolic violence and he can't sleep because someone says his dog isn't trans?

The 4 day week is South Cambridgeshire District council, this was Cambridge County council, different council.

There’s no chance of them feeling shame. The level of self awareness is zero and pomposity and authoritarianism 100
