This brave woman did what we all need to do, stood up, called bullshit on something patently absurd, and instead of supporting her, her bosses called her "nasty" and excluded HER from meetings! She's a social worker!

I was admitting a cat at work to have his testicles off and the owner told me he (the tom cat) identified as a she. I then had to have a very frank conversation about biology, just to ensure they knew what they were consenting to.

To be fair, this is, as usual, shoddy journalism because the complainant actually gave a robust opinion on human transsexuals too - the dog headline was just sensationalism. Nonetheless the same applies, she was victimised for perfectly reasonable opinions her colleagues didn't happen to agree with.

Dogs certainly can be mortified with embarrassment, usually by their owners. But they really don't care at all about gender for 95% of the time.

No training so far, but the verdict was announced in our staff news letter. Lizzie is amazing to ensure that a commitment to training was part of the deal.

If only he'd confined his remarks to concerns about humans. I refuse to take anyone seriously who thinks refusing to acknowledge their dogs gender fluidity is indicative of someone who would discriminate against people.
