To be incensed that a man cost council tax payers £63,000 for insisting he had a gender fluid Daschund?

£63,000 could have paid for an awful lot of things for the poorest families in Cambridgeshire, instead, thousands of hours and a huge pile of cash has been paid out because of some dickhead, virtue signalling in a meeting

This brave woman did what we all need to do, stood up, called bullshit on something patently absurd, and instead of supporting her, her bosses called her "nasty" and excluded HER from meetings! She's a social worker!

WTF is going on? Is it the backwards decade where we all do the opposite of what's sensible?

This is batshit. How did the dog communicate that it is gender fluid? (tbh, the term sounds like it should be a brand of lube).

Before we had a crisis regarding the provision of MH care, this man would have been considered for a bed on a ward.

The Council Tax payers in Cambridgeshire need to make this point loud and clear, no doubt CCC will be increasing Council Tax next year.

I don't know whether the absurdity and idiocy of this case will actually permeate the addled brains of those so steeped in this ideology that they chose to pander to someone who couldn't sleep because his dog had been misgendered.

Do they have any idea how utterly, woefully, stupid they come across as? And these are people in charge?

I thought Lizzie (the GC social worker) took the council to the tribunal? Cut legal aid and she would just have been sacked with no recourse.

You don’t get legal aid for tribunals. Lizzie had to fund own legal fees

The council has spent taxpayers money defending this tho.

Trans dogs yeah? Get with it or you're a bigot.

A Biggertree the dog probably cocked his leg on.

He's takin' the piss.

As far as I can make out, it didn't, and the man didn't necessarily believe his dog actually was 'gender fluid'.
The report says
On one occasion, Ms Pitt's colleague put a dress on his dog in order to provoke “debate about gender”, the tribunal heard.

So.. the man wanted to provoke a 'debate about gender' but then claimed to be upset because he didn't like the tone of the debate he provoked. Which is frankly worse than him merely being delusional.

SlightlyJaded · 17/09/2024 19:54

Thank fuck for the Lizzie Pitts of this world.

Honestly we are becoming a laughing stock. My European family genuinely cannot believe some of the nonsense being churned out here in the UK - it's embarrassing, but also dangerous.

Virtue signalling. Nothing more. Prick.

What a load of utter cobblers

What a waste of everyone's time and money.

If I lived in Cambridgeshire I'd be kicking up a stink.

It's a fucking dog, jesus wept.

Unfortunately I don’t think this stuff is contained to UK. I’m sure some can share other examples.

Allthehorsesintheworld · 17/09/2024 20:02

Adults can be as fluid as they want but don’t inflict it on a dog.
Dogs aren’t humans, they’re not influenced nor impressed by this crap and are not meant to wear bloody dresses.
These people have paid jobs? The mind boggles.

Another quote from the Critic article:

She [Director of Human Resources] also complained that Pitt was not prepared to prioritise the “lived experience” of her colleagues and that she instead “focused on reciting facts and scientific data, including statistics about gender minorities.”

Well those damned facts and scientific data, huh. Don't they just get in the way.

What a hateful bigot, having a reality based opinion and backing it up with facts and scientific data. SMH. That would be the symbolic violence, I take it? The facts and reality?

It really shows you what the culture there must be, that not only did some supposed professionals tell their employers that they were traumatised by someone having a factual opinion, the employer sided with them, not the woman with the facts. And did so up to the very day of the court hearing. What the hell was their defence going to be? So depressing.

Totallymessed · 17/09/2024 19:08

The bigger problem is the useless management and HR department who didn't tell the social worker with the dachshund in a dress to get a bloody grip.

This. Where the fuck have the adults gone?

As for the poor dachshund I'd report the owner for animal cruelty, it is a DOG a sentient being not a fucking toy.

PattiSmithsPattis · 17/09/2024 20:06

Not just paid jobs @Allthehorsesintheworld , they're social workers! Really fucking scary shit. Well done Liz 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It's obviously dogshit that it got as far as it did. The Council obviously is so far down the rabbit hole they turned left and came out in Canada......

BunfightBetty · 17/09/2024 20:09

Is there a regulatory body that assesses whether councils spend council tax reasonably and investigates egregious wastes of money?

I would hope so and, if so, they should investigate CCC off the back of this. If the council is so cavalier with its residents’ money that it was happy to pursue this case, where else are they wasting huge sums of council tax payers’ cash?

Likewise, this case raises grave concerns about the fitness to practice of the fucking eejit social worker with the dachshund. Who regulates social workers and ensures they are fit and propwd persons who are competent to carry out their role?

keeperofdarktails · 17/09/2024 20:09

"On one occasion, Ms Pitt's colleague put a dress on his dog in order to provoke “debate about gender”, the tribunal heard."

So if the colleague wanted to provoke a debate, he/she/they? should be prepared to have one! Not surprised she won, after all she was just responding accordingly, with a debate.

Darkflames · 17/09/2024 18:09

The thought of a gender fluid dog is absurd.

Well done to Elizabeth for standing up for common sense and to the judge for seeing it too.

The thought of a gender fluid human being is ridiculous let alone a dog.

OonaStubbs · 17/09/2024 20:11

Take it out of the salary of the chief of this council.

Hopefully the man with the "gender fluid" dog has already been sacked.

Why on earth do we accept such utter, utter bullshit from the people we pay to work for us? Someone needs to remind them that we are the masters and they are the servants.

GailBlancheViola · 17/09/2024 20:12

From the end of that article:

Cambridgeshire County Council, Mr Analha – and Pablo – were contacted for comment.

Snort.

The worlds gone mad

safetyfreak · 17/09/2024 20:15

I really wish it went to court, just for the laughs as it would have made the mainstream news.

As a fellow social worker, well done Lizzy.
