How often do you wear make up?

My next door neighbour wears a full face of make up every single day without fail. I say this having just bumped into her in my pj's with no make up...

Daily for me too. I don't understand why you wouldn't even put a bit of tinted lip balm and blusher on.

I wear makeup most days, but I have no difficulty understanding why other women don’t.

LostittoBostik · 15/11/2024 07:12

I used to wear it every day until I had children. Now just when I'm working outside of the house (not for the school run)

Stretchedresources · 15/11/2024 07:14

Never, I'm 50. I don't even own any. Moisturiser, sunblock in the summer and brush my eyebrows.

Auburngal · 15/11/2024 07:20

I don’t wear make up. Used to though, only on going out.

Have an eye condition (Keratoconus) where if I wear eyeshadow it falls off clumps due to odd contour of eyelids. This falls into my eyes and irritates eyes. I probably not worn make up for 8 years.

I probably need to start to applying it again but unsure of what’s best

EnterFunnyNameHere · 15/11/2024 07:33

Pretty much never. I used to for going out when I was a student (not for "everyday") but since I graduated I think maybe the first couple of Xmas parties and then my wedding (8 years a). So fewer than 4 times in the last 16yrs?

When it occasionally comes up in conversations, people act like I must be very confident- it's not that at all. I don't think I'm very attractive, and I don't think make up changes that - so why bother? Lot's of people look amazing with make up on, but they are usually much prettier than me full stop, and much better with their make up technique, so good on them!

JoanCollected · 15/11/2024 07:37

very rarely. And I hate that I feel I have to at times. It’s totally unfair on women.

Janella · 15/11/2024 08:00

I'm a blonde and have no eyelash/ eyebrow definition without make up. Personal choice, but I use some brown mascara and eyebrow pencil every day plus powder and tinted lip balm, dab of blusher.

Many Friends with darker hair have this definition and look without make up.

Princessfluffy · 15/11/2024 08:39

Never, I'm gorgeous without it

Thursdaygirl · 15/11/2024 11:37

Once I've applied a bit of a make-up in the morning, I'm 'done' for the day, and will look presentable if I'm out/on a Teams meeting/answering the door etc. I look like I've been exhumed without it.

ArmourClatterSale · 15/11/2024 11:44

Almost never. I have worn make up perhaps 10 times in my life and I’m in my 40s. Don’t bother with anything at all.

To be honest I’m not confident in applying it in the first place. Afraid I would look like a clown. Also worried I will smudge it.

All in all it’s easier not to wear it and because I never do wear it I don’t feel uncomfortable being seen without it. What you see is what you get lol.

So what if your neighbour wears a full face every day ?
I wouldn't even notice
I wear it daily too

Not sure about the "wouldn't even notice" - if people have done fairly glam or full face make-up during the day, I think most people notice - or certainly I would. Not as a bad thing or good thing, just as a thing, (unless it's poorly applied).

If someone had good make-up, I generally think something complimentary.

I love goth make-up so always appreciate people wearing that.

Personally I don't wear make-up very often of laziness and because it feels weird, possibly because I so rarely wear it. Also prone to irritation.

I wear it if I'm going out on a date or special occasion. Or more often put it on and then wipe it off quickly , swearing 😂

Petrine · 15/11/2024 12:22

I wear makeup every day. I look far better with it than without.

TheEyesOfLucyJordon · 15/11/2024 12:34

Never 😊

Every day, I feel unfinished without it, helps to cover the aging face !

Sadly as you get older, your features lose definition so I like to put the definition back!

I used to wear it every day but now my eyes react so only when going out or on Zoom

I don't think there's a smug emoji.

OriginalUsername2 · 16/11/2024 13:37

I got used to my own face during lockdown so now I only bother if I look really tired and ruddy, or just feel like doing it.

Before that I wouldn’t even start my day without a minimum of foundation, eye-liner and mascara.

you're right, there isn't , but that's the closest I found to it. Lol!

notacooldad · 16/11/2024 13:54

On a day to day basis o only put on a sun block. However I have had a lip blush done, fine micro blading andeyeliner tattoo on top lid and I wear short false eyelashes so I look ready to go even when I don't feel it!

User1253S367484 · 16/11/2024 13:55

Once in a blue moon and then nothing more than a bit of eyeliner.

I was a bit of a tomboy growing up and never got into it. I don’t think I missed anything.

Itcc · 16/11/2024 13:58

Never, also a bit of a tomboy that never grew out of it and on the few occasions I tried as a teen I just hated it. I put a suncream on my face now daily (and hate that) but apart from that nothing.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/11/2024 14:04

Everyday. I find it therapeutic and like a kind of art.
Some days I go for full glam.
No make up make. Subtle eye shadow. Subtle blusher and a bit of bronzer. Highlighter mascara and lip gloss.
Other days just Mascara. Lip gloss. Vaseline for highlighter.

DonaldJohnTrump · 16/11/2024 14:22

Makeup is such a beautiful, beautiful, little word. I wear it everyday.

I use Farrah and Ball Dutch Orange for my visage but around the eyes, I lighten this area to show off my bigly, blue eyes, and so here I like to apply diluted Tippex.

I saw a girl out jogging this morning (first thing, about 7:30am on a Sunday) with a full face of make up. Each to their own, but given she can’t have gone anywhere before hand and she’ll need a shower when she gets back I was pretty baffled by that. We’re also in the country so if she saw h mad of a dozen ppl I’d have been surprised.

What a slapper!
