My next door neighbour wears a full face of make up every single day without fail. I say this having just bumped into her in my pj's with no make up...

Daily- concealer, foundation, mascara. Takes 10 minutes if that. I feel like i look like death without it!

PussGirl · 01/09/2024 17:54

Hardly ever. Never for work. Sometimes if I go out. More likely if going out in the evening. Just blusher and eyebrow pencil plus occasionally lipstick and very occasionally eyeliner. Very very occasionally mascara.

SingHosanna · 01/09/2024 18:14

Every day without fail - the full works. Skin care plus makeup probably takes me 40 mins. I don’t get my hair coloured or nails done because I couldn’t be arsed with the upkeep of appointments (if I could though I would). I love the process and I like that it’s time to myself to get me set up for the day. In the same way that some people feel polished when their clothes are put together, I feel polished when I have makeup on. It gives me confidence. If you want to dig deep it probably has something to do with suffering awful acne as a teenager. My skin is really clear now but I still notice the acne scars.

But I can’t say I ever notice when I’m talking to other women if they do have makeup on or they don’t.

About once every two weeks if I'm going on a night out. CBA otherwise. I'm 44 & averagely attractive- it's not confidence, just laziness.

greenleaveseverywhere · 01/09/2024 18:47

Most days if I'm going out and always for work but I do love an occasional makeup - free day (like today!) I've not showered and still in my pajamas 😂😂😂

IHateMozzies · 01/09/2024 18:49

Only if I’m out out….. which is a very rare occurrence.

Icanttakethisanymore · 01/09/2024 18:53

I saw a girl out jogging this morning (first thing, about 7:30am on a Sunday) with a full face of make up. Each to their own, but given she can’t have gone anywhere before hand and she’ll need a shower when she gets back I was pretty baffled by that. We’re also in the country so if she saw h mad of a dozen ppl I’d have been surprised.

FarmGirl78 · 01/09/2024 19:05

Every day. If a gate needs painting you paint it.

Thursdaygirl · 01/09/2024 19:07

Putting on a little make is part of my morning routine, it’s completely normal for me.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 01/09/2024 19:10

In my teens and 20s - every day.

In the last 3 decades almost never.

Generalquestion · 01/09/2024 19:15

Once every 10-20 years maybe...

tedgran · 01/09/2024 19:24

Every day, I feel unfinished without it, helps to cover the aging face !

Darkdiamond · 01/09/2024 19:32

Every day unless I'm having some kind of duvet day. I do the full face: eyeshadow, liquid liner, eyebrow pencil, mascara, foundation, blush and lipstick. Make up is my hobby and I look forward to doing it every day. I love experimenting and trying new products or techniques. I look better and feel better. There is often a rhetoric that other, much cooler and lower maintenence women would much rather have an extra half hour in bed than faff around with all of that vain old make-up, when in reality it takes minutes amd makes a big difference to how I feel.

AsYouWiiiiiiiiiiiiish · 01/09/2024 19:38

5/6 days a week. Typically have one chill day in pjs in the weekend.

I feel happier and more confident wearing it, so often put it on even if not doing anything. Its good for my mental health

henlake7 · 01/09/2024 20:00

Most days, gives me a little confidence boost. Although I have no problem being seen without it....I don't bother when I'm walking the dogs first thing or if I'm working a Nightshift.

I was going out to the car.

Yes, but the fact you were going out to your car still has no bearing on your question. You do you, and let she do she.

Lindtnotlint · 15/11/2024 00:02

never. For me it’s about not subscribing to the idea that “looking good” is important (to myself or others). I try to look appropriate and presentable, but do my best to avoid getting sucked into the idea of striving for more. I always remind myself that this approach seems to work well for DH and most men of my age when they do it!

LaineyCee · 15/11/2024 02:52

Think of myself as very low maintenance, but I wear makeup everyday. (Even if I’m at home, wearing joggers, with my hair in a bun.) Some days I might only have 10/15 minutes, but it’s still a part of my daily routine I really love. It’s spending time with myself, on myself, having fun and being creative. The only time I wouldn’t be wearing makeup are days when I was too ill to wash or get out of bed.

kayless · 15/11/2024 02:57

I usually wear makeup 1-2times a month,haha😂

Ghostofallnightmares · 15/11/2024 04:27

Every day .

Jk987 · 15/11/2024 05:05

Daily for me too. I don't understand why you wouldn't even put a bit of tinted lip balm and blusher on.

Greetings OP, at last another woman confident enough to nip out of the house dressed in night attire, to the car...
I've done it to retrieve the wheelie bin, and that's in daylight!
Under the cover of night, I've dared to go further 😱

I rarely wear make up.

Even when I was a teen, I never really got the "hang" of applying it in a way that other girls did... you know the flicks of eyeliner, and just that professional finish I always envied.
Also NEVER foundation, (or tinted moisturiser) coz I felt that young skin didn't really benefit from it, and since I got older, it makes my laughter lines look even deeper.

IF sometimes I actually want to wear some, it'd be some lippy, some cheek colour, and some colour to eyelids.

I used to worry about my eyebrows thinning, but use of black castor oil over a period of about six to twelve months has fixed it... and as a bonus, has also thickened up my lower eyelashes 🤣
Yay!

OP, you do what suits you, and your level of confidence.
As someone famous once said, "best thing you can wear is your smile".
I assume that means with or without cosmetics....

There are a lot of things I don’t understand but that’s not one of them. Because it’s not a priority?

I’m sorry, I’m trying to work out why that’s funny but you’ve lost me!

CalicoPusscat · 15/11/2024 05:53

BB cream practically everyday. Then sometimes mascara, bit of lipstick.
