Now is the time to set out his vision for the UK, to inspire the UK towards harmony and productivity with a huge majority, which he will never have again. Instead there is a speech , presumably delayed by the riots, which continues to heap blame on the Tories. It was dour, depressing and offered no motivation to the public. There may be huge holes in the public finances and tough tax rises may be necessary, but he also needs to set out a grander plan for economic and societal prosperity. Why can he not do more ?

He was bloody good tbh. Yes it’s trendy to criticise him, in reality he was no different to Thatcher, many of whose policies were far more damaging long term.

I personally don’t need my PM to have charisma (look where that got us Boris). I need them to have integrity and the best interests of the majority at heart.

I don’t want politicians who charm. I want politicians who DO THE JOB. Given that Starmer has only been in power a few weeks and that the previous government made a binfire of everything they could, I’m more than happy to wait and see how he does.

I personally had more than enough “charm” and “charisma” from Johnson. I like having a politician who levels with me about just how bad it is.
