Disgusting or Not?

My partner has the habit of washing his hands and his arms up to the elbows at the kitchen sink and then drying them with the hand towel in the kitchen. He has very hairy arms.

AIBU to think this is disgusting and the hand towel in the kitchen should only be used for drying hands, not other hairy body parts?

I don’t feel that it is hygienic to handle food after I have washed my hands and dried them on the same hand towel that he has used.

Probably true that we are both struggling a bit at the moment.

Just to update, I have told him that I was wrong to think it was disgusting for him to dry his forearms on the kitchen hand towel so thanks everyone for your helpful comments.

Not worried about pubes, just worried whether 40 degrees would kill all the disgustingness from the knickers or whether it would infect the towels?

With what? If you have an infection in the nether regions you need to go to the doctor!

Things in the washing machine are being washed. The clue is in the word washed. Therefore, once washed, they are clean.

By the way I always use 30° and that enough to clean things and save energy.

I don’t really believe the post though. Anyone who is dirty as you and has farm animals wouldn’t be bothered about drying clean arms on a towel.

All true, I’m sorry to say. I guess people are not always logical, consistent beings?

I’ve just realised that I have only washed my bath towels once in the last eight months.

Is that OK because I am clean after the bath when I use them?

And you worry about your old man washing his arms? 😂

You have multiple animals but don't wash yourself, clothes or towels?

Just how grim is your house?! I think it's you flying the red flags here not your poor forearm-cleansing partner.

I'm glad you apologised.

Not much of what you are saying adds up though, if your cleanliness standards really are as low as you're saying, where you haven't washed bath towels for 8 months.. why would your husband drying his arms bother you? But 8 month old towels not bother you?

It's a serious question by the way.

StMarieforme · 20/08/2024 13:19

Derailing but I find forearms so sexy.

I'll get my coat...

I guess it is the difference between your own filth and someone else’s.
