Olympic Opening Ceremony

Watching the opening ceremony. AIBU in finding it boringly grim. Especially when compared to London 2012.

Would be much better in a stadium...

I don't really see the point of it all really. Just get on with the sport.

It's very boring and I suspect a lot of athletes will be sick as dogs on that choppy water

And they haven't got the Queen either.

( Actually, they did have a beheaded Marie Antoinette, but that's not quite the same)

The sport will only be marginally more interesting.

The boats are boring and the weather is awful

I enjoy seeing all the athletes from the different countries but can't be bothered with all the arty farty stuff

South Korea have sensibly come prepared with ponchos.

It’s pretty grim and an absolute environmental nightmare. Definitely would have been better in a staduim.

Not great, I normally enjoy seeing the teams coming into the stadium. Watching the French effort makes me appreciate our royal family more, they certainly perk up our ceremonies.

Yes it's very boring. I want to turn it off by my DH won't let me.

I thought it was quite an original idea, everyone does stadiums.
Alhough putting some of the smaller nations in children's paddle boats seemed a bit mean (well that's what they looked like).

There just seems to be a rainstorm right over Paris atm but no where else!!

There is a reason everyone uses a stadium.

This is a terrible opening ceremony. DD is just willing a bmx rider to fall in to provide some light relief.
