Watching the opening ceremony. AIBU in finding it boringly grim. Especially when compared to London 2012.

That's what opening ceremonies are supposed to be. I'm sure ours seemed naff to other nations.

I initially thought the idea of the parade in boats was nice. But I am getting very bored now.

I may have to walk the dog as The Cat Walk isn't doing it for me.

I was looking forward to the opening ceremony, as I have previous ones. I got my snacks and drinks all ready so that I didn't need to move from in front of the TV and miss anything, then I started watching.........

What a terrible opening ceremony so far! It is just dire. 😖What were the organiser and show director thinking of presenting this rubbish to a worldwide audience?

Without being biased, the queen parachuting into the stadium on opening night is going to take some beating...

I don't remember 2012 as being any more special than any other Opening Ceremony, but then I'm not British so don't subscribe the "superior Brits" mentality. I'm enjoying this more.

I'm still clutching my pearls over the threesome.

I think it's also the fact that top class athletes can't do anything, move anything apart from waving a flag.

I'm surprised no one has been seasick...its really choppy 🤢🤣

Where's the cheese?

Id have cheese, croissant boats, a massive handbag with Olympic ring clasps, cheese, a giant croquembouche volcano eruption, people dancing on wine barrels, the Olympic torch fired out of a giant bottle of Moet, Pierrot (cos I had a bedroom like that), the Seine replanted like Monet, Louis XIV thrones etc.

I was thinking the same. I feel nauseated just watching them bob up and down !

Ugh it’s dull, I'll put it back on again at 9 to see the lighting of the flame.

I’m enjoying it. Impressed by the smiles and professionalism despite the poor weather conditions. Seine does look rough however.
