How the hell is this being allowed! I’ve seen the volume of medals they are earning - medals which should be earned by women. Men and women are not physically comparable and this is just a line which once again shouldn’t be crossed.

It makes me really angry. It's the young girls at regional level I worry about most. A lot of girls will give up after becoming disillusioned early on if males keep snatching their victories away, and we'll lose lots of strong talent at a national level long-term as a result. The bodies that approve this bullshit obviously don't give a damn.

It doesnt make sense does it. But then should the trans people compete against men? Or should they just give up on competitive sport unless its mixed sports but other than darts it doesnt really happen does it.

It's nothing more than cheating by the men, they can't make it in men's sports so they hijack the women's. It's disgusting.

Some sports do have mixed versions eg hockey has an official mixed version - 5 men, 5 women and a goal keeper of either sex. Despite this a number of university sides are fielding “women’s” teams including TW ie men. Those men are not being barred from playing hockey, they have a mixed version if they really don’t want to play men’s hockey but that’s apparently not good enough for them

They're outcasts sadly. They may have been born men but they would look out of place playing a "man" and equally they're not accepted by women given the many reasons on this thread. Its a shame really as I dont think most are going through the trans process solely to win sports (though maybe some are??)

Sporting organizations don’t necessarily rate women, they often have their own misogynist ideas. They could change this if they wanted. Some have.

Women’s sports is a huge part of feminism. It is a massive fuck you not just by trans athletes but a lot of men full stop.

Look at the abuse women who speak out have got? JK Rowling obviously but former sportswomen such as Sharron Davies and Martina Navratilova have spoken out and been inundated with abuse

No one who has been through make puberty should be in women’s sport.

The bone and muscle mass, heart size and blood volume are forever changed. The way the proportions of limb size, shoulder width, pelvis contribute to greater strength…all different .

But the need for Transwomen to be in women’s spaces is now more important than anything women might need or achieve.

They can certainly compete against other males. Don't forget that one of the most famous transwomen won gold in the Olympics decathlon - an event which isn't open to women.
Maybe that means they have to make hard choices about when to have various treatments, but women athletes frequently have to make hard choices around sport at the highest level vs motherhood.

Why is this a problem for women to solve?

Men have a physical advantage over women in almost every sport, we have women's competitions so that there is space for us in elite sport. I have no interest in which category men who say they are women compete as long as it's not the women's category. They can compete with their sex or develop their own category.

This is a fantastic interview with Riley Gaines, an American swimmer who was forced to compete with Lia Thomas, a 6 foot 4 man in swimming competitions. They were forced to share changing rooms with him and were not allowed to speak out about it. She also talks about the hard work and discipline it takes to get to that level. For that all to be taken away by a mediocre male is just enraging.
