Men are too comfortable in public

This is the first time I’ve really noticed it but as I was playing with my son in a park, a man was on the phone with his hand literally inside his trousers as he paced. Every now and then he’s pull it out and scratch his balls and put it back in. Like all the way in. It’s weird. I could never get away with doing this. It’s rude and I don’t want to have to see that. I feel like this wouldn’t have happened 50-100 years ago and it’s slobbish and disgusting not to mention unhygienic. I feel unreasonable for being annoyed at this. They’re so comfortable in society that the park is like their bedroom apparently. Whereas women often feel the need to make themselves as small as possible in society. Rant over.

Well, I have never, ever needed to shove my hands in my boxers to 'sort myself out' in public.

Some people are just slobs, both men and women.

But generally men. That needs acknowledging. Women aren't walking around with their hands rummaging in their knickers FFS.

He's acting unusual deliberately and consciously. Very different to someone who had a wardrobe malfunction or was just standing innocently. In my mind it's justified but I totally understand and respect everyone's opinion and this will be taken down shortly I'm sure (shorts pun not intended lol)

You are gross quite frankly, just take it down yourself.

LordPercyPercy · 23/07/2024 22:54

So its morally correct to take a picture surreptiously and post it on a public forum? Good to know: your level of insight is as magnificant as the OPs.

People take pictures of other people being twats and put it on social media all the time. It's legal in the UK. He's lucky his face was cropped out.

If you don't want to be shamed for fidding in public, don't fiddle in public. Easy.

I'm told many people are doing it for me so I don't see the point.

Indeed, his basic right to privacy does not matter at all seemingly. It is bad enough that the photo was taken without his awareness but to publish it on a public forum is terrible conduct. The OP seems to be as lacking in awareness as this chap.

What, perverts deserve privacy to play with their own junk in public now?

Is he a pervert? Because you say so? What a weird and strange reply. Is what he has done illegal? Surely you report to the police rather publicly post something on a forum if you are concerned. It looks to me he is a world of his own and not doing it for some kind of perversion but you do you.

CeruleanDive · 23/07/2024 22:57

Oh give over, @Marinade. Such outrage directed at the wrong target.

Thats ok then? You cant act proactively to correct a wrong? Yet you presume you are sooo morally superior. Interesting.

She could have described it or reported it, what she has done is voyeuristic and disgusting. Happy to help.

Ohfuckwhatdoidonow · 23/07/2024 22:58

Men are far too comfortable in public.
Had one say some really fucking strange things today.

I wish they'd act a little bit more appropriately but not being scared in their day to day life they won't understand what womens problems are with them acting as they do.

ClaustrophobicKipper · 23/07/2024 22:58

Bit of a generalisation there! I've never seen a man do this (thank goodness!)

Again, because its not illegal that makes it morally ok? I see women wearing outrageous clothing that shows way too much all the time. I would never ever dream of taking a picture and posting it, this is weird and boundaryless.

By that logic when women wear shorts that show half their bum or nearly display their nipples they aer the exhibitionist and deserve to be publically shamed online? Good to know.

Again, wearing very little (although I'm not a fan of that either) isn't the same as actively touching yourself. You would still shake a scantily clad woman's hand 😂
It's fine that you think I'm immoral but I hope you find him immoral too. Then it's ok 👌

But you took a picture without his knowledge and posted it. And was he asking to shake your hand? Your 'logic' is getting harder to follow by the minute I'm afraid.

FFS yourself. Jeez.

Six posts in six minutes, @Marinade. Is this somehow very personal to you?

SweetFemaleAttitude · 23/07/2024 23:05

Thepeopleversuswork · 23/07/2024 18:48

This does happen but the picture here is a borderline situation: the guy could just be looking for his keys. Also a bit OTT to photograph him and put his picture on a national forum. It’s quite likely he was just being a bit of a slob and you wouldn’t like it if someone snapped you in your PJs and stuck in on Mumsnet.

Keeps his keys tucked behind his bollocks does he?

If the OP said she seen a bloke with his hands down his pants in public, why is your first intuition to defend the bloke and disbelieve the woman?

Throwwaway · 23/07/2024 23:06

I genuinely can't believe that I have been made uncomfortable by a man in public in broad daylight with my child (he 'started it' if we're doing that) and I am blamed! and by other women! You can disagree with me photographing him, how many times do I have to say 'I understand your sentiment' but it shocks me that a woman thinks this behaviour is ok. And detracts from this by putting the focus on me and refusing to take it away. This is why we haven't advanced as much and we are still being harassed, women enable weird men while shaming the people who were made to feel ill at ease. What a shame.

Who said it is ok? It is not OK but neither was taking a picture and publishing it without his knowledge.

Sunhatweather · 23/07/2024 23:07

Yes, OP - it’s disgusting behaviour. So unhygienic and rank 🤢 I’ve noticed the type that do this never look like the smartest tool in the box.
Who gives a flying f€!k if OP has used an unidentifiable photo? This place really is a pit of professionally offended vipers.
