Wearing a skimpy bikini around teenage son

I'm late 40's and have recently lost alot of weight. I have treated myself to some new bikinis for an upcoming beach holiday and some are thong styles. I did originally buy the thong ones for when me and DH go away later in the year alone. But every holiday I go on abroad there is so many people younger and older than me showing all their bums! When I was a teen it was rare, but not anymore. Just not sure I'm brave enough or if it would be a massive no with adult/teen children! Wwyd?

Will your son cringe? Perhaps. Will it hurt him to see your butt? No. And he can endure some embarrassment. I actually think it's a good model for him that women of any age can wear what's comfortable and fashionable and there's nothing weird about it.

Yeah, they're really common now and frankly are no big deal

I don’t even think the love island girls looked good in them so no I wouldn’t wear them. I used to wear a normal binkini to sit outside my caravan no one could see me but my family . I am slim and petite not that it matters but teenage DS had a problem with it . I just ignored him!

NortheastYankee · 02/09/2024 13:54

The Love Island girls don't wear one's that fit well.

Good on you for ignoring your DS. I think it's probably awkward for a lot of boys to realize that their mom is a woman and dresses like it. They can deal. It's a good lesson for them.

Even if you have an amazing body they look ridiculous and attention seeking.

NortheastYankee · 02/09/2024 17:36

Why would having an "amazing body" matter one way or the other?
