Steady the horses, it's an exit poll that's all.

the fat lady is warming up, not singing

saoirse31 · 04/07/2024 22:21

Brilliant for most UK citizens

I’m a lifelong Labour voter and have been waiting for too long for this day to come.

I hope it doesn’t take the new government long to sort out this mess.

HungryLittleCrocodile · 04/07/2024 22:22

Yes thank GOD! Grin It's only an Exit Poll, but Labour have defo won with a landslide majority.

HormonalHairyPoppins · 04/07/2024 22:25

I've opened the bubbles and I'm going to spend the evening ahead watching the many 'Portillo' moments roll in.

Soukmyfalafel · 04/07/2024 22:26

Apparently Dorries is on C4 and appears to have been at the gin already and is talking about Boris. Tories saying the extent of landslide is disappointing and Labour have done badly as it should have been bigger.

OK then.....😂

Who the FUCK has voted for Deform UK? 13 seats 😫

Zanatdy · 04/07/2024 22:26

Super happy to see the back of the Tories. Looking forward to seeing the official news, going to get a few hours sleep and my insomnia will come in handy tonight, but alarm set incase

Soukmyfalafel · 04/07/2024 22:28

Yes I'm off to bed too. Will pick this up in the morning. No sleep last night, so need it now.

Will be interested to know if exit or MRP poll is more accurate. Exit poll is usually, but it's a weird election this time round.

Georgieporgypud · 04/07/2024 22:29

Very exciting result! Obvs need to wait for the full result. Fingers crossed my local Tory mp has lost his seat.

RomanRoysSearchHistory · 04/07/2024 22:29

Yes, they'll have unpicked 2 decades of austerity and the utter decimation of services by next week 🫠

One of them will probably be fucking Farage.

Applescruffel · 04/07/2024 22:34

Thank goodness. It feels like we've just swatted a very annoying mosquito that's been buzzing around for ages, has bitten us all several times and is fat with our blood. Very satisfying.
Just hoping to wake up to hearing my local tory MP has gone and the lovely local lib dem lad is getting comfy in her seat

FundingitallHow · 04/07/2024 22:34

Things were bad at the end of the last Labour government and services were under tremendous strain.
Then the credit crisis hit.
Then the tory had a coalition, then austerity, and then brexit and covid and Ukraine war.

I should feel excited but I don't have any faith that my life will be better. I can only see it getting worse unfortunately for myself and my girls.
We are not a high earning family either, in fact after years of struggle I finally feel slightly better off! I think they will take my pitiful wage from me, reduce my rights and make life miserable again

SurelySmartie · 04/07/2024 22:57

I hope it doesn’t take the new government long to sort out this mess.

Mmm. Let’s hope they can sort it out and not make things worse.

Exit polls are usually very accurate.

RaginaPhalange · 04/07/2024 23:02

Tories or labour fucked either way.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 04/07/2024 23:05

Finally we’ll have some grown ups in charge.

We’ll see. I'd like to believe that, I did vote Labour, but only time will tell.

jennytheonionslayer · 04/07/2024 23:35

Lifelong Tory voter

Voted Labour for the first time today.

Feels weird but the lesser of five evils.

That said, I am glad Reform are on the map as I was close to voting for them, a disrupter to the two party system can only be a good thing.

They now have the choice to either mature as a party or make a pigs ear of it and disappear back to where they come from.

skippy67 · 04/07/2024 23:36

I'm really concerned about Reform. Protest vote or not, it's scary.

On the first 2 seats that have been declared Lab first then Reform in front of the Tories.

LordPercyPercy · 04/07/2024 23:37

No commiserations at all to the SNP, this was richly deserved.
