Obviously I can't tell you who to vote for but then there is this:

I'm voting Reform. Not because I'm racist but because they are the only ones offering to sort out the immigration crisis in this country. The nhs, housing and schools need sorting out. I want to be able to get an appointment at my gp surgery. The only way to fix the problem is to reduce the population.

So you’ll vote for Reform whose owner actually led to MASSIVE increase in immigration? It’s like the Brexit vote again ‘I know what I’m voting for!’ FFS.

Also you do realise illegal immigration is minuscule compared to legal migration? About 500k Ukrainians and people from Hong Kong came here legally last year alone.

In any case we need immigrants to work and become net tax payers.

Telling people who to vote for isn't a good idea. This isn't Russia you know.

Asking people to vote or not vote for a party is pretty much essential to a democracy.

How will voting reform “reduce the population”

Ivorlottosay · 02/07/2024 19:26

My View is that there has been a lot of stagnation in politics over the years
and people have seen little action in turning back the mass of illegal migration with boat people neither Labour or the tories have a solution Nigel Farage is a breath of fresh air and we. need to reform the way our government does business. unless you want more of the same. . Inertia, lack of investment in the NHS. Social services. we need this country to pull together and support all that is good support our farmers clean up our rivers re nationalise. water, electricity the essentials that everybody needs not put money in the pockets of shareholders like him or hate him Nigel Farage is passionate about Britain doing better and not being so reliant on EU rules that still encumber us ...

LifeofBrienne · 02/07/2024 19:26

Leaving aside the racism, Farage’s pet project, Brexit, hasn’t exactly been a success.
He was a cheerleader for Liz Truss’s budget that crashed the UK economy. Also a cheerleader for Putin. Like why the fuck would anyone think ‘oh there’s a guy who’s got the best interests of the country at heart.’?

5128gap · 02/07/2024 19:27

I'm hoping that all the far right racists, homophobes and mysogynists, all those too lazy to read what they're voting for or not bright enough to understand it, all those who lack the wit to see they are being fooled into voting away what little they do have, I'm hoping they do all vote Reform. Because anything that splits the Tory vote will be more power to Labour's elbow.

Which doctor will you see? The NHS is propped up by immigrants, once you get rid of them, who are you hoping will be left?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 02/07/2024 19:30

You forgot to enable voting.

Nigel wouldn’t have done that.

LifeofBrienne · 02/07/2024 19:33

Brexit shrinking the UK economy cost us on average £2000 each. Nice one Farage. Thanks.

How will voting reform “reduce the population”

Theoretically, because of our dwindling birth rate.

Without immigration, our population would have been shrinking for decades now. Instead, we have a small amount of population growth year on year.

Quite how we would fund our pensions system with a shrinking and aging population though, nobody knows. I assume Reform intend to kill the state pension and move to a private model.

iamtheblcksheep · 02/07/2024 19:36

If we are voting against bigotry I’ll be pleased to see Labour and their anti semitic candidates kept out of power on Thursday.

Farage didn't broker the deal we got nothing from. If they'd have negotiated it properly we might not have the shit show we've currently got.

It doesn't seem like a storm in a teacup to have people from Reform using the 'p' word to talk about people of colour, or to say that immigrants should be shot, or that Africans have a lower IQ, or for that matter that women are spongers who should get back in the kitchen or that gay people are nonces and the police should be replaced with paramilitaries.

And Labour jettisoned Corbyn and replaced him with a leader who had made getting rid of antisemitism a priority. Can Reform ditch Farage and clean up their act in the same way? Not before Thursday they can't!

Not at all they can’t - it’s not a political party it’s a limited company and he’s in charge. This is why he could step in over Tice with no process.

Beezknees · 02/07/2024 19:50

Wouldn't have voted for them anyway.

caringcarer · 02/07/2024 19:52

Shortfatsuit · 02/07/2024 18:47

Me too. Only a tiny proportion of estates are liable for inheritance tax in any case. A lot of people assume that it will affect them when they're way off the threshold.

Surely if you leave over a million you'll end up having to pay it?

🤣 untwist your knickers dear! Good grief! Not bright enough to understand could also be said of those that refuse to accept others can decide to vote differently to them and that’s ok.

Kendodd · 02/07/2024 20:04

Yeah but OP, just imagine you're a massive racist, would else are you going to vote for? Racists have as much right to vote as anyone else.

Shortfatsuit · 02/07/2024 20:07

caringcarer · 02/07/2024 19:52

If you leave over a million, then your estate is in a minority and it's reasonable to pay it.

Indeed. Or those who use silly emojis and poor attempts to patronise people they disagree with in place of debate.

That's only for a married couple who can pass their tax free £500k to their spouse or civil partner. Single persons tax free allowance is £500k.

But Farage/Reform aren't proposing anything that would address any of those things, in fact the things they're proposing are completely unworkable and would achieve quite the opposite.

Take their stance on Net Zero for example, implementing the ideas put forth in their manifesto would:

• Cost us c14% of GDP over the next couple of decades.
• Increase our exposure to international energy markets (and their price volatility).
• Increase our dependency on foreign energy.
• Increase our dependency on an energy source that even the producers admit has no long-term viability.
• Make us unable to access pretty much all investment capital.

How will voting reform “reduce the population”

Well one Reform member suggested shooting everyone in Bradford.

Oh sorry, he called it 'Bradfordstan'

Really it's a headscratcher why some people seem to think they're a bunch of racists!

Good point, they aren't a democratic party.

Cherrysoup · 02/07/2024 20:22

I do wonder if we’re going the way of the French presidentials, tho. 18% when the not so delightful Jean-Marie was in charge of the National Front, crept up to 33% last Sunday. I think the very young (for a potential PM) Jordan Bardella has helped massively, people wanting endless selfies with him. They have become scarily popular. Farage needs to employ a young good looking second in charge!

Looking at very recent polls, Labour is 19% ahead, I don’t think the Conservatives stand a chance (or Reform, thank god!)
