Unfortunately I can't link to her clip, but she's a star and a hero. She pinned him down and cut through the "twaddle". I am a swing voter and would have been proud of a mntter holding any mp to account on an important issue like Jane did. Jane is/was even trending on twitter.

Has everyone seen the thread the feminist board about the non binary man being granted a "female" GRC on appeal? Apparently because the applicant had had a stable feminine non binary gender identity since 2015.

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5108465-a-male-non-binary-person-gains-a-female-grc

Thanks Arabella

Yes, it is the first time. I wanted to know what he thought on the topic as it's an important one for me.

I find it a little strange that you haven't informed yourself of the various party political positions already then if it's "important" to you.

It's almost like...bullshit.

@Sparticusoctopus can you answer where will men with GRCs have access under Labour?

JaneVapeman · 30/06/2024 11:36

Can someone start a Jane from london thread 2

It was Jane's question, she's entitled to ask it the way she wants. You can inform yourself easily about Starmer's previous statements.

Yes, of course. All I was saying was I found it annoying as I would have liked to have known his response.

Riversideandrelax · 30/06/2024 11:44

Ereshkigalangcleg · 30/06/2024 11:18

The way MPs act in parliament is atrocious and immature. In no other professional situation would you get away with it. Using that as your example of how to behave is hardly convincing!

It's an example of how people do behave in politics, not how people should behave in everyday life. HTH

Yes, I know. My point was acting like you're in a playground isn't a behaviour to copy with regard to politics. Obviously in real life you wouldn't get away with it.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2024 11:47

Riversideandrelax · 30/06/2024 11:39

Yes, of course. All I was saying was I found it annoying as I would have liked to have known his response.

Jane could see where he was going though, with a non-response, hence cutting in. I appreciate that those who've not seen him in action on this topic wouldn't have realised (at that point) that he would go off on a tangent, but that's where he was heading. You wouldn't have got a sensible idea about what's what even if Jane hadn't preemptively cut him off.

As you'll have seen from the subsequent interview posted, it's waffle, waffle, deflection...run away!

Also, Jane had a right to an unequivocal response to her question, not a load of twaddle, but a limited amount of time in which to get it, due to the format. I'd have cut in too in her shoes.

@Clabony* *
What I raise an eyebrow to: people who say they are women scolding an ordinary woman querying the Labour Leader's fudged position wrt Safeguarding for Biological Women and Girls “

Youre doing the same again. Inferring that anyone who disagrees with you isn’t a woman.

Do you have comprehension problems? Are you on some kind of daily thought patrol to ensure that we think everyone on here is a woman?
This is AIBU not Snowflake Corner.

I haven't said in that quote that people who disagree with ME aren't women.

The part of my post you highlighted, and @ me, to be sure to get my attention, is an observation about the fixation some seem to have with tone policing Jane. I don't believe that everyone of those posters is a biological women.

You seem to have such a problem with that reasonable observation, that you feel cause to misrepresent what I said, under a quote of what I actually DID say.

It's a fair comment in the context of this thread. Try reading it again slowly - it really doesn't say what you claim it says underneath the quote.

You picked me up for something else incorrectly upthread a day or so ago, and then had to apologise,

That's twice now you have tried to misrepresent me on this thread. A third time and I'll begin to think you aren't posting in response to me in good faith. Another reasonable belief.

We all have different lives. Some of us find that hard to access. There will be many others like me. Listening to that programme could have helped me learn but I felt I didn't because I couldn't hear KS's response. At the end of the day is that not the point of the programme so people hear what the different parties think?

Riversideandrelax · 30/06/2024 11:49

EasternStandard · 30/06/2024 11:26

We know his useless lines

He doesn’t clear up the inherent contradiction and is pretty much lying

He also can’t hear women over his bluster so Jane did brilliantly

Ok, you do. Not everyone is the same.

Did you see the transcript of it in the Mail? That might help you a bit (I found the radio show a bit chaotic, so the transcript really helped).

ohdearz · 30/06/2024 11:51

Still the same handful of posters shouting in the wind, it's almost like they are in limbo, doomed to repeat the same lines over and over again however one might try to reason with them. Like someone said upthread if KS were to give in to their exact demands they would doubtlessly be disappointed because they would have nothing left to shout about. Luckily they will have no impact on the impending Labour majority.

For the rest: as KS tried to say when not being constantly interrupted by our Jane: Labour will protect safe spaces for biological women. Now chill.

He wasn’t answering the question he was asked. He was blathering on about his credentials and refusing to engage with James question.

People are trying to tell him there’s a problem. He’s manoeuvring so as not to hear their concerns, and assuring them it’s all fine- while not hearing their questions.

And that's a total fudge. Just so everyone's clear.

When a definition of 'biological women' can also include men with a certificate - which will be a piece of cake to get hold of.

JanefromLondon1 · 30/06/2024 11:54

Riversideandrelax glad I saved you listening to him give another non answer then.

I have sadly listened to him spout waffle about lots of topics but this one particularly and I wasn't going to give him a pass.

Maybe educate yourself by listening to his previous and subsequent replies to this question. I liked the one that mentioned the word penis the most, where he runs away without answering.
