@newtlover he made it very clear across this statement and the debate in Nottingham.
He was very clear that because of his past experiences he understands women and girls need safe spaces.
He then went on to say that trans people are so traumatised and vulnerable that we need to accommodate them with easier GRCs and the law doesn’t need changing to clarify biological sex because it’s already adequate.
We know it isn’t adequate, it isn’t working and women are not safe. We know he’s done sod all to support single sex spaces, that he believes some women have a penis and are to be treated the same way all the other women- but with extra kindness because they are traumatised, poor lambs. He is insisting it’s fine.
He then attempted to accuse Rishi of making an anti trans joke in the presence of Brianna Ghey’s mum- which is untrue- but Jane brilliantly stopped him and refused to allow him to waffle on about his previous work which means he understands what women need and so doesn’t need to listen to us.
He said, in essence that he doesn’t listen to biological women (which was Jane’s question) because he knows what we need because of his previous work, and who needs safe spaces most and is happy to let some Special men continue to colonise women’s spaces.
He literally says he knows what we need so he doesn’t need to listen to us. In the most condescending patronising way imaginable. Some of his best colleagues are women, he has daughters, he has been a prosecutor, so he doesn’t need to listen to women like Jane, Rosie Duffield, JKR etc.
