Unfortunately I can't link to her clip, but she's a star and a hero. She pinned him down and cut through the "twaddle". I am a swing voter and would have been proud of a mntter holding any mp to account on an important issue like Jane did. Jane is/was even trending on twitter.

So everyone on this thread would be happy if we had 5 more years of Conservative government?

Absolutely not. I will categorically not be voting Conservative. But KS is making it very difficult for us to vote for Labour.

I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind this tbh. He’s perfectly happy to upset a vocal minority in terms of VAT on school
fees. But is reluctant to do so when it comes to the safety and security of women. It’s an incomprehensible paradox.

Angela raynor said on lbc, trans woman's rights are women's rights. She also appeared to be irritated /baffled by the fuss around these "unjustified fears.

Raynor is like that with anyone who challenges her. She can not stand to be opposed.

I’d rather have fifty more years of conservative government with Biden in charge of economic policy than risk having a guy with his dick out parading around my daughters changing room in a bikini.

What do you people not understand about this?

Mirabai · 28/06/2024 21:41

Jane you’re a fucking superstar. I salute you. 🙌🏽

JaneVapeman · 28/06/2024 21:42

@SchoolQuestionnaire follow the money. Stone wall are doners. It's the founder of it who upset Rose Duffield.

My daughters are both in their very early teens, I'm so worried we are about to enter a handmaiden era.

Well done, Jane. You wouldn't let KS off the hook however much he squirmed.

I'm voting Labour because they're better than any other party on every issue but this. Once they're in power, we'll fight them for women's rights and protection of our spaces and we'll win.

Cantquitebelievewhatitscometo · 28/06/2024 21:46

JaneVapeman · 28/06/2024 21:09

What concerns me, is that the people at the top seem to genuinely think this in a non issue. They will make it more dignified for trans people, they will protect them and us in the same space, end of.

They don't get it or understand it and I think this is the biggest worry. Why not properly look into the fuss? Investigate it.

If one of the big wigs could articulate our fears and give a reasonable answer back I would be happier
Every time keir mentions violence I know he's still not bothered to actually look into this.
Or, the stonewall donor is hanging over them??

This. Why, when there must be polling showing this is problematic, are they so focused on this item? A crafty politician who genuinely believed this is good and right, would have not made any comment on easing the GRC process and relied on pushing through when elected with a HUGE majority, but they have put that this as one of their key commitments so they must be planning to put it through under the Salisbury thingie, whereby if it’s part of an election pledge, it’s not challenged. Why on earth are they so committed to this? Who is holding their feet to the fire?

JaneVapeman · 28/06/2024 21:46

@LornaDuh let's hope it doesn't become a hate crime to speak out about this and we end up in prison.

AllPrincessAnneshorses · 28/06/2024 21:49

You'll get cheerleaders here. In the meantime in the real world the patriarchy are delighted some women turn on trans people as it distracts them from women's actual oppressors.
NOT any kind of heroine. Handmaiden.

LornaDuh · 28/06/2024 21:51

No, in the real world everyone knows men can't become women.

Handmaiden 🙄

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/06/2024 20:54

Not at all. The idea is that a party shouldn't just waltz into government simply because they are the least shit option. By raising this issue time and time again, and for some having their vote swayed by it, sends a clear message that the party will want to pay attention to: we care about this. If you don't, you can get in the bin.

To my shame I wasn’t aware of that. However it’s in our power to stop it. If they are happy to accept money from that despicable organisation they will not be getting my vote.

I only wish there was a viable bloody alternative as I’ll essentially have to waste my vote in protest. What a crying shame.

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 28/06/2024 21:55

@newtlover he made it very clear across this statement and the debate in Nottingham.

He was very clear that because of his past experiences he understands women and girls need safe spaces.
He then went on to say that trans people are so traumatised and vulnerable that we need to accommodate them with easier GRCs and the law doesn’t need changing to clarify biological sex because it’s already adequate.

We know it isn’t adequate, it isn’t working and women are not safe. We know he’s done sod all to support single sex spaces, that he believes some women have a penis and are to be treated the same way all the other women- but with extra kindness because they are traumatised, poor lambs. He is insisting it’s fine.

He then attempted to accuse Rishi of making an anti trans joke in the presence of Brianna Ghey’s mum- which is untrue- but Jane brilliantly stopped him and refused to allow him to waffle on about his previous work which means he understands what women need and so doesn’t need to listen to us.

He said, in essence that he doesn’t listen to biological women (which was Jane’s question) because he knows what we need because of his previous work, and who needs safe spaces most and is happy to let some Special men continue to colonise women’s spaces.

He literally says he knows what we need so he doesn’t need to listen to us. In the most condescending patronising way imaginable. Some of his best colleagues are women, he has daughters, he has been a prosecutor, so he doesn’t need to listen to women like Jane, Rosie Duffield, JKR etc.

ExitPursuedByABare · 28/06/2024 21:55

Women’s actual oppressors are men. Trans women are men.

Hurrah for Jane 👏👏👏

Croupie · 28/06/2024 21:56

I will be voting conservative. I loathe them in most respects but I trust them on this issue. I have three daughters and I want them to be able to change in peace, compete in fair sport and ask for a female healthcare professional if they need one.

I want women to have the right to call a man a man. The right to state reality as we see it is more important to me than almost anything else.

Rusty101 · 28/06/2024 22:01

So what are the other parties saying about this? I can’t seem to find anything concrete. I planned to vote Labour but would vote Lib Dem or Green if they were with the Tories on this issue. There is no way that I will vote Tory/Reform.

rewilded · 28/06/2024 22:02

I have been saying this for years about safe spaces. Our lovely leisure centre was replaced 5 or so years ago. Our safe changing rooms lost to men. Well done Jane!

I could never vote for Labour. They are career politicians and give no fucks about women.

Strawberryvodka · 28/06/2024 22:02

Well done and thank you Jane.
it was interesting watching KS on twitter, as opposed to listening on the radio. You could absolutely tell from his eyes that he knew what he was saying was utter bullshit. Twaddle, indeed.

i salute you Jane.

WorriedRelative · 28/06/2024 22:04

Jane needs to take over newsnight I am bloody sick of weak pathetic journalists failing to hold politicians to account

Clabony · 28/06/2024 22:06

Well done Jane, you were great.
I do wish Starmer could talk about traumatised biological women and girls with the same be kind rhetoric he uses for the men who don't want to be men.

(He never mentions transmen does he? )

Liberal in the name probably is enough to describe their stance and the greens are the same. Only the Sunak has come out and said that biological sex matters and even then he hasn't acted on it, it is just in the category of telling people what they want to hear. No one seems to be calling out that whole premise of the trans thing is absolute nonsense.

No you won’t because you will be lounging in prison for committing a hate crime but don’t worry you’ll still have male company when starmer lets all the transmen in there

qwerty14 · 28/06/2024 22:10

Well said Jane. We all know that he has no interest in women's rights because trans rights will be fasionable and better for his international reputation and future career.
It won't be 5 minutes until there is legislation obliterating women's rights.
