Or Bras for that matter. I've got a washing line for the first time ever but what is the done thing?

Well, there’s not much on the telly if you don’t like football…

@FadedRed

you haven't been watching the leaders debate?

Runnerinthenight · 26/06/2024 21:54

I don't have a line, historically because I was working 5 days a week in an office so not here to peg it out and run to get it before it rained. Now I mostly wfh but can't have one because we've several bird feeders meaning lots of birds in our garden so it would all get shit on!!

Ellie56 · 26/06/2024 21:54

Yes of course. Why wouldn't you?

I don't like football or politics!!

CheerfulBunny · 26/06/2024 21:54

Enjoy your new washing line, let your knickers (and everything else) fly free! I am positively evangelical about line drying. The absolute bliss of getting into clean sheets that have been dried on the washing line... it's the best smell in the world.

25thCenturyQuaker · 26/06/2024 21:55

Hell, yes. And I don't wish to appear boastful, but I have both a washing line and a rotary drier in my garden and I'll wantonly hang out my knickers, my bras and my husband's underpants. I'm almost sorry that I'm way past needing period pants because, dammit, I'd hang them out too.
Phew, glad to have got that off my chest!

Heelworkhero · 26/06/2024 21:55

No, because I never wear them, but the ball gag and ankle cuffs go out to dry when they’ve needed a rinse……..

Paintedocean · 26/06/2024 21:55

Having read the replies I’m obviously weird but no, I definitely don’t. Just don’t fancy my underwear hanging in the garden - not the bog standard M&S cotton stuff or the seen better days stuff or the, (in a flattering light), vaguely sexy stuff.

NannyGythaOgg · 26/06/2024 22:01

yep

FadedRed · 26/06/2024 22:02

@AmelieTaylor Nope, already voted.

longdistanceclaraclara · 26/06/2024 22:02

Yes, always on the inside as husband is a teacher and we live between two kids he teaches. No one needs to know about my knickers!

lightand · 26/06/2024 22:02

No. Not unless I have to.
My neighbour used to. Everything was hung on it, in full view.
Not for me thank you.

Captainmycaptains · 26/06/2024 22:03

Well, yes of course! Though MIL refuses to when she stays ( weeks at a time which is why she doesn’t laundry!)

Uppitywoman · 26/06/2024 22:06

Yup! Everything goes on the line if it’s been in the washer.

I've never actually had birds shit on my washing much, maybe once a year I'll notice a bit. Maybe if you get absolute dirtbags like pigeons or gulls in your garden, but it's never been a problem, and my neighbour is a demented dedicated birdfeeder.

What!? Hang every bloody thing!

7monthsofwinter · 26/06/2024 22:09

Only at half past nine

Oh God! I'd move immediately.

Onomatofear · 26/06/2024 22:10

Yes

Hoglet70 · 26/06/2024 21:21

But on one peg so they dangle as my knickers are huge and the neighbours can see my line. Underwear on the inside of the line and big stuff on the outside to hide it.

I do exactly this.

nzborn · 26/06/2024 22:10

no, it's in my garden but due to bras being stolen I keep all undies inside.

FluffyJellyCat · 26/06/2024 22:11

Any big items go on my two washing lines ( big family) undies go on the rotary line. I do try to put my pants and bras on the inside of the rotary as ds taxi driver walks him to the back daily and doesn't need to see my huge pants

Life2Short4Nonsense · 26/06/2024 22:12

I don't own a dryer, so everything goes on the clothing line.

namechangiosa · 26/06/2024 22:13

Swinglower · 26/06/2024 21:23

I do exactly the same.

Not me - mine are all 4-peg jobbies.
