Wouldn't we all - sadly staying at home doesn't pay the bills or buy me nice holidays.

I really love my job and colleagues. I like holidays every now and then, but i wouldn’t want to be home all day, so boring!

Can you retrain in something you like better, or at least look around for a change of scene?

Yup. I regularly have to remind myself of the meaning of work, i.e. it funds my life!

I used to feel like that; it turns out I couldn’t stand sitting at a desk all day. I need to be on my feet moving around all the time and that’s what I do now, it’s much better but much less money 😏

I work in IT , its like doing puzzles all day long and get payed for it.

Me too. I hate being told what to do. I hate the bureaucracy. I hate the terrible career prospects. I hate the bitchiness amongst the people I work with. I hate the noise and the chaos. I hate that my side hustle business can't be my career so I could work when I wanted. I hate my alarm waking me up every day.

Really? You can’t think of fun things to do if you aren’t at work? Reading, crafts, walking, volunteering, home improvements, meeting friends and family…
My work was never really boring (teacher) but it was still more boring than being at home free to amuse myself.

I like my job. I’m part time so get the best of both worlds but I think I’d be more fulfilled in work if I were full time. I like having a specialism I’m interested in and good at, and I like the idea of climbing the ladder

I absolutely love my job, but I only work 2 days a week, compressed hours, so 2 x 12.5 hour shifts. I am a staff nurse in a dementia unit.

The Scottish mountains are cold and full of midges. I wouldn't.

I agree that surely most people would rather not be wage slaves but few of us have that choice. Could learn to some computer based job and live in a van and travel the world maybe? Lonely perhaps unless others join you.

I work 4 days, i have 3 days for crafts, friends, family and home improvement.
More would be really boring to me. Friends are also working so they only have time for me in the weekends. My colleagues are nice, we are a close team.
