There are so many benefits bashing threads on here I’m really starting to wonder. Do the majority of people posting on mumsnet lean heavily to the right?

But it is impossible to change sex. That exactly what we should be teaching. Parents, teachers and work places need to keep reinforcing this. We are letting our children down by not reinforcing this.

“The internet”/the media has always had harmful content, we need to treat the gender madness on there in the sane way as other harmful content.

Yes we should teach its impossible to change sex.
We should also teach about gender identity and sexuality, so that GNC children don't grow up feeling ashamed and abnormal. Because that is bad for their mental health and also increases the chances of them getting dodgy information from the Internet.

My experience is telling teenagers they are wrong usually entrenched whatever behaviour it is that you are worried about.

How about if you have a Willie or ever had one you stay out of women’s spaces?

The question that they never answer.

How can we? We haven’t got a “Willie”.

Yes and the tide will turn on this. There are still some younger female teachers pushing this shit hard - I work with several - but on the whole people in education are heaving a sigh of relief. The unions have a way to go though - they have been pretty abysmal on this.

It can be taught as a contested belief in the same way that religion is but every child should know that changing sex is impossible.

Thankfully we have fewer damaged girls coming through identifying out of their sex and it is very much seen as niche now. The list of co-morbidities with these girls, in particular, is huge and they have been terribly, terribly let down.

I consider it a personal attack on the person it was aimed at. My circumstances are similar to hers. I'll respond as I see fit, thank you.

Okay then.

They never do.

I hope you’re right @hayleyrabbit

Adults who have pushed gender ideology are complicit in this harm.

Ah, but by definition you are offended by something you have chosen to take offence at.

Only you have decided it was a personal attack on you, because you have decided that your situation is sufficiently similar.

It’s no surprise though.

Gender identity can be taught but it is obviously a contested belief and should be taught as such. I do not have a gender identity - just a personality and a sex - and children should be told that there is no need to believe in it all.

So private rooms in hospitals - not better for the tax payer, for patient safety, for mental well being spending hours in isolation, for the nurses, for the environment, just off the top of my head

single lockable changing rooms-I guess you mean a changing village, the sort where I was victim of indecent exposure when a man “forgot” his towel going to the lockers - never went swimming there again

Who is paying for the single cells? The building of new prisons to facilitate these. Are you suggesting solitary confinement? What about when prisoners mix?

Are you actually saying this could work and be beneficial?

How about if you have a Willie or ever had one you stay out of women’s spaces?

Private hospitals have single rooms without any problem.

Changing villages work, especially for families who would prefer them.

Prisoners mix in supervised spaces.

I would say the tide of definitely turning on this. Kids starting secondary school now are generally very critical of this ideology - luckily. Kids always pick a trend, seems this one is dying out as increasing numbers of parents have woken up to what is happening.

I hope so too - the harm is almost too much to contemplate.

Yes Private hospitals with open visiting hours, with a nurse dedicated to a couple of patients, probate capital funding. Are you seriously saying you can’t see the difference between private and public ally funds hospitals

See my comment about being a victim of a sexual offence on a changing village. No they don’t work- but thank you for your concern about me being a victim of a sex crime.

ah the heavily supervised areas - because no assaults ever take place in these. What about all the other issues I raised in relation to prisons.

hayleyrabbit · 19/05/2024 15:51

It all falls down under any scrutiny - a bit like the ideology itself.

Because it’s better for patients. They get some sleep for a start.

It doesn’t really. The UK is pretty primitive in terms of privacy. Other countries do far better.

New NHS hospitals are being built with single rooms. Hospitals in other countries manage it. It’s better for patients, that’s why it’s gold standard.

And we both know that 'gold standard' is not what the NHS offers when it comes to this sort of thing so your argument is redundant.

How about men go on men's wards and women on women's wards? Cheap and simple.

Maybe it should. Instead of shooting down ways in which life could be improved for everyone, how about demanding them? That’s a battle I could get behind.

Well, I have a Labour party advert showing at the top of this message right now! Also judging from the amount of teacher unionists on this site I'd say it's left-wing rather than right wing. But then there is a lot of transphobia also...

If you see transphobia you should report it. If however you mean people stating facts and biological reality then you might have to cope with hearing things you don’t like.

I am being realistic. How well do you think it would go down if Sunak announced that, to accommodate trans women who refuse to go on to men's wards, the NHS will now be spending millions on accommodating everyone in single rooms! Imagine the flak he would get.

How about we stick to wards segregated by sex?

Other countries also end up in situations people can't afford to access healthcare - but I guess that’s gold standard too?

I think our healthcare system needs to prioritise things like paying for staff, cutting waiting lists rather than accommodate a vanishingly small number of people.

which hospitals are being built solely with single rooms?

Edited

Everyone would laugh if Sunak proposed it because he’s a dead man walking. How about if an incoming health secretary proposed it as a long term ambition for patient benefits? Nothing to do with your obsession with trans women and no need to mention them.
