To think that most people pee in the pool, on holiday? Do you?

Just back from a hot holiday. Hotel had a lovely big pool, with a swim up bar serving all manner of cocktails, wine, beer etc. People would be in the pool for hours drinking, chatting etc. Surely everyone is actually peeing in the pool? And do you?

No, no, no!

So, you’d have to keep washing your wetsuit after every surf or bodyboard session. How is that practical unless you take spares with you? Also, often they are hired in holiday situations, what sort of person wees in a hired wetsuit?

Maybe I'm a minger.... the wetsuit gets a shower/rinse off every time - and it's mine, so no-one else is having to wear my pissy neoprene. I've got three, of varying thickness, so I either put a damp one back on, or use another one, if I want to go out again the following day.
I've never hired a wetsuit, and wouldn't wee in someone else's. I'm not a complete heathen!

Why ? Why don't you do it in both and why not poo as well. I just want to understand why one is acceptable and not the other.

Because sea is a huge volume of water full of all sorts of natural chemicals and organic matter and your pee will just be a miniscule drop not mattering much. Pool - basically a large bath. Would you like to sit in the bath someone peed in?

You may as well poo then - why won't you poo in the sea?

I DID poo in the sea, if you care to read my earlier message. Not proud of it but hey, I was little.

Rookangaroo4 · 14/05/2024 23:24

What? No absolutely not 🤢

CutthroatDruTheViolent · 14/05/2024 23:30

I don't think I've ever peed in a pool. Will in the sea but didn't get the opportunity last time.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/05/2024 23:30

Absolutely not!

SweetLittlePixie · 14/05/2024 23:31

No, but my DD needs to pee constantly when swimming, so Im running back and forth from the pool to the bathroom all the time anyways. I just go when im there with her.
I would really hope adults arent this gross if even my kids can get out to pee.

Happyearlyretirement · 14/05/2024 23:33

Pools are full now f chemicals much more worrying than a tiny amount of wee. What do you think Olympic athletes in training do, get out every time they need a wee???

randomchap · 14/05/2024 23:33

I tried it once.

The lifeguard shouted so loudly that I almost fell in

Cliedi · 14/05/2024 23:37

No I don’t and I sincerely hope others don’t too! But you do know how infant swim nappies work? They are non absorbent so they catch poo but wees will end up in the pool. There will definitely be some wee in family pools. The chemicals sort it out.

Didsomeonesaydr · 14/05/2024 23:38

Blondiebeachbabe · 14/05/2024 21:43

The voice of reason!

According to this post most people go on holiday and don’t swim in the pool. I’m sorry but I just don’t believe that for one second.

No, most people do use the pool on holiday but I honestly don’t think that grown adults pee in the pool, that’s absolutely disgusting and grim.

It's amazing how literally nobody on this thread does it, but apparently everyone else does. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social-desirability_bias

No I don’t pee in the pool. I also don’t do running, pushing, bombing or petting.

But I LOVE a sea wee, it’s liberating.

I suspect those who do just won't comment.

I honestly never do. I can go beforehand so I don't need to go in the pool, then go when out. I'll admit that once when heavily pregnant my baby kicked me hard right in the full bladder as I was getting out, and it happened a bit, involuntarily, but that is the only time. I don't feel bad about that one. It wasn't deliberate.

BettyBardMacDonald · 14/05/2024 23:53

This is why I won't use public pools, only those at my sister's home & some friends'.

Revolting. I wish all pools had those chemicals that pinpoint people mid-wee, and shame them.

Rolson77 · 15/05/2024 00:01

Wouldn't you be worried about people using goggles being able to see the yellow tinted water around you? 🤢

Why won't you do it now - if peeing is acceptable what's wrong with pooing?

Banrion · 15/05/2024 00:11

No that isn't normal

MermaidMummy06 · 15/05/2024 02:00

No way! My DC know not to either! The sea is different, we do that as there's no close by loos.

DD8's friend told her that her mum tells her to pee in the local public pool. The exact reason we don't go there!

Eggplant44 · 15/05/2024 02:39

Riversideandrelax · 14/05/2024 17:51

You do realise swim nappies don't catch wee, though!

Yes, but apparently baby/toddler wee is fragrant as perfume, sterile even after days, and totally acceptable.

Sunnytwobridges · 15/05/2024 02:59

This is why I haven’t been in a public pool in over 20 years. I know a lot children that pee in pools so they are off limits for me

K0OLA1D · 15/05/2024 04:43

Plosperous · 14/05/2024 22:42

What???!!!??

Please tell me this is a wind up and no one actually pees in the pool? Why do we put swimming nappies on babies if adults happily pee in the pool anyway?

I'm honestly amazed at the amount of people on this thread that think swim nappies stop wee!!!
