Can't help thinking King Charles is selfish

Standing back, looking at the Harry situation, I can't help thinking that Charles is the root of all the family toxicity.

He had an affair while married to Diana, which led to their divorce and much unhappiness on her side. After her early death, his children were obviously in a lot of pain. The remote parenting style of the RF probably did little to soften this.
He's managed to marry his affair partner and now he's cutting off one of his sons.
Harry just looks like a really hurt person acting out to me. In most families, they would just be tolerated and forgiven.
I think the RF look very cold.

It was security’s job to follow her every move regardless. Even without Bashir, she would have known Charles could have asked them for info at any point.

No he couldn’t - they were her security and he could no more do that than Edward could ask about Anne’s.

greengreyblue · 09/05/2024 21:24

It’s pretty poor that he can’t see Harry when he’s over in U.K. Always thought C was an arse. But H has really said some awful things publicly. I don’t t doubt they are true and I feel for him but what did he expect?? He should have said them all but in private. Scrap the lot of them!

He didn't embrace his own children much did he. Yes meant the Queen, my mistake.

How do you know?!

I think the saddest thing is that they could do it differently. Not fall into the recurring trap of feeding one of their own to the media wolves, with all the bullying and negativity that involves.

There's a recurring pattern of alienation in this family and I for one would love to see them undo it.
I just feel so uncomfortable at the vitriol directed at Harry and his family, it's disproportionate. Whoever makes the first step, it should happen.
This cutting out of some members is weakening their position, rather than strengthening it.

Absolutely agree op, think you have nailed the thread with that post tbh.

She was engaged at 19 which is far too young, particularly for such a high profile role. KC is a very weak man.

These older women blaming a teen for being seduced by a powerful older man is nauseating and misogynist.

She had a mother, a father, a grandmother and elder sisters who could have stepped in.

Anyone who believes that need their head read, he’s the PoW and the next king.

She had parents who didn’t give a fuck about her. Her mother legged it when she was young. Her father was involved with Raine.

The fact the KC is exempt from the law and can influence the legislative process is disgusting. I think it's awful that we have an unelected head of state.

I'd rather have a Monarch and a Prime Minister than a president. President Boris, anyone?!

You are also forgetting that the King (and his mother before him) knows more about international diplomatic relations than just about anyone else on the planet.

We are a car bomb away from Prince Andrew becoming king , and unlike a President Boris who you could vote out in an election, that could be for 30 years + .....

if he could - and he couldn’t, security doesn’t belong to him or anyone in the RF - why would he want to? It’s clear he wanted to give her a widest berth possible after their marriage went South

Mirabai · 09/05/2024 21:05

She rejected it because with it came 24/7 royal surveillance.

Furthemore victim blaming someone for dying in a car crash is repellent.

What is repellant is someone letting the truth get away from a good story,

I hate the way the press and RF have vilified Harry - he’s a hurt little boy and needs a bit of love
I find William very cold too

I think her mother escaped an abusive husband.

Given that Charles, William, Harry and all their 5 children aren’t going to be in the same postcode any time soon let alone the same car I find that very hard to believe

Hurt little boy 😂- he’s 40 years old and has proven to be a liar and a grifter, trashing and fabricating stories about his family for money

That’s some rewriting of history. Harry chose to leave, he chose to trash his family in media interviews and his book, he chose to make himself untrustworthy. He cut himself out.

The whole country wanted to know what she was up to it wasn’t particular to KC. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

I can't 'ban' anyone from saying anything about anyone - nothing to do with me. But the zealous defence of the RF and the monarchy - and the vicious criticism of Harry and Meghan and now, his mother - from some posters - paints its own picture.

'I am totally disinterested in any "negative conclusions" you might draw.'

That makes two of us. But the word you are looking for is 'uninterested'.

Nah, quite happy with "disinterested". Don't need an English lesson from you!

As the saying goes, "your opinion of me is none of my business".

No, she left Johnnie Spencer for another man and lost her children as a result. Her own mother stood against her in court.

He was awarded custody by a court.
