I’m addicted to crafting

Ok. This is obviously lighthearted but I can’t stop crafting.

I am starting to think I might have a problem. I crochet, knit, macrame, sew, do patchwork.

I restore/upcycle furniture and no, thanks to fucking YouTube some air drying clay is arriving tomorrow.

I also decorate cakes and bake.

Toying with a pottery class now.

Am thinking I need more excitement in my life.

And a garden studio.

Hello, my name is SewingIsMySuperPower and I'm a sewaholic....

I started with cross stitching (been doing that since I was a little girl, now 40s). Then started making cards and scrapbooks, dabbled in some random kits from MakeBox (finally cancelled that subscription as it was getting silly). Then finally got around to sewing. Thankfully I've stuck with it and rarely go diving into something new now!

We made our second spare room my sewing room, but I have to share it with all the DVDs, books, lego, etc so it isn't really big enough for my stash 😂I'm trying to start using some of my fabric stash because it has got a bit ridiculous. But there are so many pretty ones out there!

Highly recommend Stash Hub for anyone who sews and needs to get organised!

Good for you. My fingers itch if they are not crafting in some form or another. I like sewing bags, purses and clothes , crochet, knitting, crosstitch, embroidery. Painting, using charcoal and pastels. Just started machine knitting, and love papercrafts, scrapbooking, journalling. I also have tried many that weren't as enjoyable and they fell by the wayside.
I remember as a child going to the local clothing factories for bags of scraps to make clothes for my dollies.
Keep going, you will keep discovering more crafts that you like.

I crochet at all times. It's rare not to see it in my hands or near me 😂. Especially when out. I'd love to try this. I guess you either have the knack or not. Wonder can you try it without the disc. I'll maybe look in YouTube. I have looked into making bracelets before but never quite got there.

You can make a disc from a small bit of cardboard - I don’t know how good it would be, but you could give it a go! YouTube will tell you how.

That blanket is lovely.

Me too! I don’t like wool though so no knitting.

So on the back of this thread I’ve dug out my Kumihimo disc, made a plain bracelet (because I don’t have any nice threads… yet!) Got bored and decided to try and make a flat braid, but Hobbycraft only sell the round discs not the square plates.

had a look on Amazon (very cheap - it’s only a bit of foam - but do I actually NEED one?)

then spent a hour trying to do it on the round disc before thinking ‘I could just YouTube this’ Actually it is possible to use the disc, so am about to give it a go.

this is also my basic approach to crochet - give it a go, make it up as I go along before giving in and using google.
