For voting Tory

1000 replies

Whatismypasswordthen · 16/04/2024 12:23

I know what the Tories are and no, I don't like it. But I'm a woman, I have daughters and I come from generations of women who've been abused and dismissed because of their sex. I want better for my girls but I can't do it on my own. I need a government who will (at least give lip service to) supporting me. Am I a Tory? no. But the last thing women need is to be fighting their own government for basic recognition, so Tory it is.

The irony of your name ...

Can you point to where the so called " lefties" called someone an idiot?

You just said lefties can't debate rationally and intelligently. How is that part of a mature conversation?

To be fair someone early in the thread said that someone voting Tory on this issue alone is an idiot.

*Really? A woman harasses you in the bathroom and forces you to leave and you congratulate her?

So in order to make sure Transwomen don't use women's bathrooms, women are allowed to harass other women in the name of feminism?

Hardly seems pro woman.

I can't imagine ever being ok with a woman kicking me out of the bathroom because I don't look the part. I also can't imagine doing that to another person either though.*

I wouldn't leave. I'm talking about from my perspective. The rest are your words, not mine. Don't put words into my mouth.

BIossomtoes · 18/04/2024 13:09

I wouldn't leave.

What would you do? If you were clearly making another woman feel uncomfortable?

This
Thank you random women in the bathroom who demand that I get out as I don't belong in here!
As if. 🙄

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 18/04/2024 13:11

I wouldn't leave

What, even if you were visibly making another woman uncomfortable in there just by being present?

Nothing. I am a woman. To the naked eye I am a woman. It wouldn't happen to me. People can usually tell.

I don't believe there would be any occasion where if a woman was challenged and they said 'I'm actually a masculine looking woman', the other woman would continue to harass them enough that they would have to leave the bathroom. I don't believe anything written in Pink News.

If that did happen, they should rightly call the police, like anyone else facing unwarranted harassment.

I'd explain I am a woman and I have a right to be there. I don't believe there would be any transmen so convincing that woman would manage to harass them enough to leave. If I was so intimidating and presenting 100% as a male, would a woman challenge me?

True. Hence why there isn't an outrage of masculine women using men's spaces and bathrooms.

She filmed it. And yes her husband did bring security over. This isn't " fake news".

And why would she need to say she's a masculine looking woman? She isn't. She had a hoodie on and short hair. Does that make her a masculine looking woman?

Do I stop wearing hoodies in case I'm seen as a threatening man the same way my black son has to be careful wearing hoodies? Because some people are reactive?

For clarity, I'm saying it's laughable that "it wouldn't happen to me as you can always tell"
No, no you can't.
I've been told I look like a bloke before. Which is completely laughable, but clearly wasn't to them
So not sure why you're saying "true" as if you agree with me.
As it does happen.

You'd be wrong.

My partner received a letter about using the women's bathroom at work.

To be fair he usually uses the men's it's just late at night he uses the bathroom on his organizations side of the building.

Gender ideology is not helping it’s making stereotypes worse.

If society ditched gender ideology and was more accepting of different ways to look it’d be better all round

Especislly for children

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 18/04/2024 13:25

I'm not sure why you're using that story to argue the right for transwomen to use women's bathrooms?

I know a woman who looks like Keith Chegwin more than Keith Chegwin does. If anyone was to speak to her it would be clear she's female.

You're not providing me with the gotcha you think you are.

Yes I’m not sure why it means we should have mixed sex not single sex

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 18/04/2024 13:28

Like I've said more than once now, work on men not being the more problematic sex, then you might not have the rare instances where woman harass masculine looking women out of bathrooms, instead of getting angry at women.

Lion400 · 18/04/2024 13:52

EasternStandard · 18/04/2024 12:16

You’re making sense don’t worry about accusations

People will hold onto gender ideology even though there is a better way for society to deal with gender dysphoria which ensures dignity, safety and privacy to women. I’m not sure why

It’s interesting that male violence has come up a couple of times as a reason to protect others in their sex class but the pp can’t join the dots to seeing why single sex is important due to that violence

They Could join the dots.

They just don’t want to. Because if they did, their whole ideology would collapse.

Like the house of cards we all know it is.

The irony in this post is just astounding. A poster who accuses those of us who are on the political left of name-calling by... name-calling us. You honestly couldn't make it up.

No name calling in my post. Only pointing out that people are calling people idiots rather than debating a point?

'Lefty' is an insult used by those on the right when they have nothing to argue with.

You called people who disagrees with you "lefties "
Which is only ever seems to be used as an insult by people, usually by the same ones who shout "snowflake" "PC gawn mad" and "can't say anything these days"

But why does this mean we should have mixed sex spaces?

In fact if we ditched gender ideology and taught children that you can do whatever, wear whatever ie not sex stereotypes it could reduce this issue

Were they still convinced you were a man after speaking with you?
