For voting Tory

I know what the Tories are and no, I don't like it. But I'm a woman, I have daughters and I come from generations of women who've been abused and dismissed because of their sex. I want better for my girls but I can't do it on my own. I need a government who will (at least give lip service to) supporting me. Am I a Tory? no. But the last thing women need is to be fighting their own government for basic recognition, so Tory it is.

Why would I care that someone is pretending to recognise me whilst also shitting on me from a great height?!

I don't think there's an option not to be shat on, that's going to happen regardless. The choice is whether you're shat on as a woman or as a vagina haver. Oh FFS 🫣

Tory voter looking for validation to vote Tory.

Sure start was a "quaint" idea.

Mother of god.

What difference does it make? Shit’s still shit and it still stinks.

I do understand why people feel strongly about this issue, but for me it isn't more important than:

-children being able to access mental health services
-accessible and effective healthcare for all
-domestic abuse victims being able to access legal aid
-people being able to afford food
-people being able to afford to have the heating on
-essential services being adequately funded
-contracts going to the right people, not just their mates

I'm not saying Labour will be able to achieve all of that after the work the Tories have done to fuck it all, but I believe they will at least try

TooBigForMyBoots · 16/04/2024 19:13

Anyone who feels strongly about this issue couldn't possibly consider voting Tory.

I think these threads are started by Party of Women or Reform UK voters seeking to highlight why you can't trust the Tories on anything this issue.🤔

Purplecatshopaholic · 16/04/2024 19:27

Your vote, your choice. No way on the planet I could sleep at night if I voted Tory, so I won’t be joining you..

Whenwillitgetwarm · 16/04/2024 19:43

Hello Tory HQ. Don’t you have anything else? You had an almost identical thread last week. It’s getting boring now. Are we going to start seeing daily ‘at least they know what a women is!’ threads in the run up to the election?

P.S Rishi - hire better people. Your team is shit and unimaginative.

They're relentless lately aren't they 😂
Definitely seen several identikit "I'm a woman and Tories will take care of me!" threads lately (paraphrasing for any wally that might take that wording literally) but that's basically the gist

@Whatismypasswordthen I forgot. The ‘not this crap again’ people also often accuse those with significant concerns about women’s rights, as being what they call ‘Tory bots’ / Tufton Street something or other / Tory HQ or blah blah blah.

This lets us know, as if we didn’t already, that some people simply cannot conceive of the fact that women’s rights are so important to us. Shocking I know. But again, here we are.

PS. Your initial earlier reference to cute little projects like Sure Start (can’t recall the exact words) was clearly not serious, and was to make a point. I’m not quite sure why some people keep wilfully thinking it was.

The NHS is a money pit and Labour don't have a money tree that will be able to improve the situation. As our population gets sicker and older it will become more apparent that it isn't about who is running the country but that we simply can't afford free universal healthcare anymore.

And have the tories said this no. They have over promised and chronically undelivered. Its the poor staff left having to choose who needs their help. They are young doctors left facing huge challenges. We have left the next generation with a terrible legacy.

"Knowing what a woman is" =/= "womens rights"
Anyone who votes Conservative can't possibly care about women's rights.

Lion400 · 16/04/2024 20:41

Said time and again. I’m ok with that being the case. Sometimes things need to be repeated.

Kier Starmer, leader of the Labour Party, has stated that thousands of women (millions if we include women from around the world), have penises.

Now call me old fashioned (call me what you like), but

Either

he thinks women do have penises, hence he doesn’t recognise the female sex;

or

he knows women don’t have penises but he is just saying we do because well why I have no idea.

So either he doesn’t understand scientific fact, or he is a liar.

Which ever of the above is true (no folly-filled PhD required 🧐), it doesn’t bode well.

I won't bite this bunch of fuckers in.

Don't need to for sport either.

NGBs have already started rolling this out years ago and most sports don't allow biological men to compete in biological woman's categories.

Something about Sunak being 40. I’m sure he’s older.

Genevieva · 16/04/2024 20:48

The whole point of democracy is that you get to vote whichever way you want for whatever reason you want. You do not have to justify your choice or feel guilty about it. You do not have to share it, but you can if you want to. You do not have to agree with other people’s voting choices and they don’t have to agree with yours.

Or: the law says that some people who were born male are legally women. Making him factually correct.

Hmm. Which of these 3 is true?

Noone is proposing repealing the GRA so he's going to continue to be factually correct no matter how often you post this.
