Yes. Sometimes it’s quite nice to ask your friends what they’re wearing to a wedding you’re both going to or something

You are getting worked up over something that is insignificant. Tell them you haven’t decided yet if that is the case, really not much effort

YABU - not many people want to stand out, most of us want to blend in. I need to know if someone is going dressy or casual etc, if not obvious.

Lots of things are ‘trivial’. Life doesn’t have to be serious and worthy all the time.

YABU - otherwise how do you know 'fancy dress' means a nice frock and you don't turn up to your ex-husbands wedding reception dressed up as Margaret Thatcher and everyone laughed at me.

My Friends and I are guilty of doing this any time we’re going for a night out and I don’t think any of us are childish to be honest! We just like to gauge how dressy we’re going.. also my best friend and I have very similar style and have inadvertently bought the exact same clothes on many occasions 😂 it’s honestly harmless really isn’t it
I wouldn’t do it for a walk with the dogs or Sunday lunch but will for a night out/day drinking event

Sometimes it’s just nice to chat about clothes. Nobody is saying on Tuesdays we all wear pink, or anything like that.

Nope, I don't think it's childish at all. Friends like to chat about things, dontcha know.

Some people enjoy clothes and fashion, and enjoy talking about them, if you don't find it fun that's fine, but not everything needs to be serious or important to be discussed! That's the joy of life surely - its like discussing what you are going to order at a restaurant (although tbh for me that is VERY serious business)

This is literally an issue for no one. How can someone be offended when a friend asks them this.
