AIBU to be really wound up at women putting their handbags on tables in the restaurant?

it’s a real bug bear of mine. I find It extremely rude

Google says it is extremely bad manners to put your handbag on the table in a restaurant. Just something I thought most people would know. Basic etiquette

Don't be so rude OP. You start a thread, you explain your thought process on the matter. Weird!!

I think it’s a bit grubby because bags go on floors or other surfaces that might not be super clean, then on to a food prep/eating surface. I suppose though some expensive handbags may never have touched the floor!

I don't care what Google says. I will put my bag on a table in preference to the floor, i may hang it on the back of my chair if it's not going to be knocked off or in the way.

you're seriously thinking that the people who told you they put their handbag on a table in preference to a grubby restaurant floor would seriously put their handbag on the floor in the toilet?

I have bags that are not floor bags. They go on a hook in the toilets.

Bags have been everywhere. Toilet floors, outside, in shopping trolleys. They find brlong on dinner tables.

I don't ever put any bag on the toilet floor when out in public. If a cubicle doesn't have a peg, then I make do with the hinge or the top corner of the door.

OP who is putting a bag on your table when you are in a restaurant? I really don't understand. If it is a dinner companion, surely you can say please hang your bag on your chair.I put my bag over the back of my chair or better still I l love those restaurants where the table has a shelf underneath for your bag or has a built in hook. I don't want my bag on the floor in case it gets nicked or scuffed.
