Anyone hate these posts?

• really really really long posts
• long posts with NO paragraphs
• posts which start ‘ I have a friend, let’s call her Jane; her DH, let’s call him Sam… you can’t bloody well follow the post. Much easier just to say Friend and DH.

You just know if those were posts you'd have the excusers, the driver was perhaps having a day of self
reflection and didn't see you and anyway why are you important?, the neighbour is elderly (60)! there's always one excusing dreadful behaviour on here.

It is annoying because it's useless. 'Neighbour parking on my drive' or 'Shopping in X supermarket is too expensive' is useful because it tells you what the thread is about.

When I first joined Mumsnet I read a thread where the OP decided to buy a new wheelie bin, rather than point out to her neighbour that they'd taken her one and she wanted it back!

But I think it's also the exclamation marks.

They make the poster sound slightly deranged!!!!!!!!

On a thread about someone well-known who has made the news or even died, a poster always chimes in to say “Never heard of him”.
Like we care whether they have or not. Google or keep quiet

“Should I report?!”

Half the time it’s something stupid and the other half there’s nobody to report whatever to.

“Last night I was kept awake for 3 hours because of a thunderstorm. Should I report this?”

“I was walking through the park today and a squirrel threw an acorn at my head, should I report this?”

Oh, yes, I’d forgotten that one. I can’t stand Person A and Person B. As one poster says, it makes it sound like an algebra problem. 😊

People who say 'long time lurker'. It's OK, I'm not the MN police. I don't care! And you make yourself sound creepy, anyway.

And when someone famous dies. The OP has either had the post typed ready to go to create the thread that quickly or was at the unfortunately person's deathbed. It's not a race and I have the same news alerts, thanks. Go and be a town crier instead. Oh yea!!

People with loads of money complaining that other people get help

Yep... not long ago I think I responded to someone who did just that with "there's always one". They seem to get a kick out of not knowing and telling us.

People who post a text or email that they think the OP should send to the person they're having the issue with.

The ones where someone says 'I was walking down the street with my DD and a piano fell on her. What shall I do?'. And posters respond with 'you should teach your DD to avoid pianos' ; 'you shouldn't be walking down streets with your DD'; 'teach her to be more resilient to pianos'.

(Yes, wildly exaggerated example but you get the gist🤣)

On the telly adddicts forum where OP will cut and paste from some digital tv giude, the burb about the programme, cast, times, etc. Then they '@' several hundred other MNs just in case they didn't know it was on...
It makes it seem a club you are excluded from ( altho to be fair, most posts in telly addicts are about programmes I wouldn't watch anyway!)
