YANBU I'm not a millionaire so I chose the NHS.

YABU I am a millionaire so I don't need the NHS and I choose Brexit and Tory government.

NHS

Grin you know you are going to get a indignant pasting in a moment.

No more Tories for me thanks. And brexit can do one too.

Shouldgetupearlier · 02/02/2024 20:17

What are you talking about? Non-Tory parties always say that about the NHS, but I haven’t seen anything to make me think they want to get rid of it. It would obviously help if there was less waste, and more staff, but they can’t force people to become doctors and nurses.

JaninaDuszejko · 02/02/2024 20:23
  1. Labour will not reverse Brexit
  2. The Conservatives have not said they are getting rid of the NHS (in fact, wasn't part of the Brexit campaign that we'd have more money to spend on the NHS).

So whichever party win we have we'll have Brexit and the NHS.

Stringagal · 02/02/2024 20:23

What a strange way to compartmentalise it all. I’d keep the NHS, cancel Brexit, fire the politicians of both parties, and happily take the million quid.

MotherOfRatios · 02/02/2024 20:24

To be honest, it's not just the NHS in crisis. We have a housing crisis we have so many issues in this country. But no politicians want to do investment.

verdantverdure · 02/02/2024 20:25

Did you not see the Channel 4 piece of the NHS Crisis @Shouldgetupearlier?

12 hour waits on a trolley didn't used to be a thing.

But they are now.

Oh bore off.

HRTQueen · 02/02/2024 20:28

I’m going for letting the NHS go and replace with a system similar to France

it was great but that time has long long gone

verdantverdure · 02/02/2024 20:32

All right moneybags!

DojaPhat · 02/02/2024 20:34

Getting rid of the NHS isn't akin to when Wilkos and the like were closed down. It very much looks like 12hour waits on trolleys in A&E, 6 month waits for crucial procedures, lack of GP appointments, unsuitable referrals, ambulances queuing to drop off their patients in the A&E bay. It looks a lot like what we're seeing now. Unfortunately for us any other party with an actual shot at ending the tory reign is basically tory lite.

Catza · 02/02/2024 20:38

I am a European working for the NHS. I can’t vote but good luck everyone!

You're doing well if you get a trolley to wait on!

Theimpossiblegirl · 02/02/2024 20:41

Why would anyone not choose the NHS?

MagratsDanglyCharms21 · 02/02/2024 20:50

The NHS is fucked. We need a frank discussion of what comes next.

Alcyoneus · 02/02/2024 20:53

What a genuine question without any political agenda at all. Not.

If you wanted to start a Brexit bashing thread, why not just start one. Why the pathetic attempt at trying to sound clever.

Dogdilemma2000 · 02/02/2024 20:54

YABU. Neither main party will save the NHS

ltappleby · 02/02/2024 20:57

I won’t be voting Conservative but I don’t support the NHS in its current form. I really wish it could be transformed into a Continental or Australian model of health care.

Kendodd · 02/02/2024 21:38

Well, people chose the Tories and Brexit didn't they.
They 'knew what the voted for' and so here we are.

CranfordScones · 02/02/2024 21:43

When people voted for Covid-19, they knew what they were voting for. Blame them.

SaunteringOnBy · 02/02/2024 21:46

In 5 years, after the Labour party have been in power for a while, come back and let's see how the NHS is...
It'll be worse or sold off in chunks.

Labour aren't going to fix anything, things will get worse.

ChaosAndCrumbs · 02/02/2024 21:47

Unfortunately it isn’t just millionaires that vote Tory. I know plenty of people on benefits that vote Tory and plenty of very well-off people (including millionaires) who vote Labour. None of the well-off people I know voted for Brexit, but the majority are in creative industries so that could have made a difference.

Im not a Tory voter and never have been (or will be), I’d choose the NHS every time in that scenario. Imo, the NHS can be saved, but it’ll be a bloody long hard job.

Pumpkinpie1 · 02/02/2024 23:14

Nhs
the conservatives are the party of hate and division not a single policy has worked in the 20 years they have been in power

TizerorFizz · 02/02/2024 23:19

No government truly has enough money for the nhs and it’s simplistic to ask this question. The NHS has poor productivity so is not likely to produce great outcomes in the future. So don’t get your hopes up.
