Obvious one would be the lottery, but I'm also curious about things like 'make me a winner'/cash register or similar on the radio, BOTB/similar raffles/magic freebies etc

My mum once won pink concert tickets and £3000, both on the radio (separate giveaways years apart), I've never been lucky sadly 🤣

Purely being nosy, I also wonder what the average odds are for the radio, I've always thought it must be better than the lottery

We win things quite regularly on the Sky VIP app - loads of concert tickets, festival tickets, had a few children’s books, panto tickets and some zoo tickets!

I also once won £1000 at the bingo with my Nana when I was 18!

Bit of a long story.
My grandad used to be vicar of a church in my city. He died many years ago but we only lost my beloved gran this Easter.
One of my closest friends is now the vicar of that church (have got to know her recently since she took Gran’s funeral. She is also a former student of gran).
At this year’s Autumn church Fayre I won 2nd raffle prize (50 pounds). I added a bit more as a personal donation as did my husband, and we gave it back to my vicar friend and told her to use it to repair the hearing loop system for our deaf parishoners, in my grandparents’ name.
It was fitted last week, just in time for Christmas. I am delighted and feel like my lovely grandparents are living on, knowing that those who are hard of hearing won’t be excluded at this time of year which can be lonely if you have lost someone.

I once entered a raffle in a charity shop (kids nagged me to enter) to win a massive Easter egg

Forgot all about it until I got the call saying I'd won

Really chuffed (as where the kids) and struggled to carry it home-it was massive

Got it home and had to use a hammer to break it down

It was that bad, even the kids refused to eat it-it tasted just like mouldy cardboard

I have won a few small-ish prizes, nothing life-changing but it's nice to have all the same. Once I won £50 and it came just as my cat was going on a special diet so that paid for a lot of special food.

Mothership4two · 10/12/2023 15:14

My cousin won a holiday for two in China which included camping overnight on the Great Wall of China. Competition in a woman's magazine about 10 years ago.

Goatymum · 10/12/2023 15:15

JL luggage at a school raffle
Dh won some nice aftershave at another raffle!
Nothing of massive monetary value both DCs and DH win on premium bonds fairly regularly! Ds won £100 recently, hoping for another zero though as we’ve had to make expensive repairs lately.

Mothership4two · 10/12/2023 15:17

Two raffle prizes 1) overnight stay for two in a lovely hotel in Winchester and 2) a flying lesson

ANightingale · 10/12/2023 15:22

No, I never win anything, not even small prizes.

Nutsabouttopic · 10/12/2023 15:22

A car ( my favourite prize). We were only just married and money was tight so to have a brand new car was a dream come true
Weekend festival tickets
Concert tickets
Theatre tickets
Meet and greet afternoon tea with a celebrity
Spa break
Hotel vouchers
Household items, vacuum cleaner, cooker, tumble dryer
Hampers, drinks, chocolate, food, toiletries
Movie merchandise
Money
Vouchers for clothing, car valet, afternoon tea, toys
Smaller items like cds, dvds, games, books
This week I won a xbox and a Christmas sweet hamper, my dd will be thrilled Christmas morning because she was talking about upgrading her xbox
I enter all competitions on Facebook and Instagram, doesn't cost me anything
Have been entering competitions for years and been very lucky
The old saying " if you're not in you can't win", my thinking is that somehow to win and why shouldn't it be me

SpringingJoy · 10/12/2023 15:23

Five numbers on the lottery.

It was both great and awful because when we saw five numbers come up, it feels huge. Then it was a tad disappointing to find out it was £1200 😬

Mountainhowl · 10/12/2023 15:28

Wow some of these are awesome!

I enter on the radio occasionally, always hoping for my 3-4pm phonecall 😅 I've usually already planned out what I'd do first if I did get the call, also enter the sky VIP ones when I remember, and some that come up on magic freebies

I did used to win fairly regularly on cloth nappy raffles about 10 years ago, on Facebook groups though not through a company, I've definitely given away far more via giveaways for my small business than I've ever won!

We won the on the Vodafone Christmas voucher game last year. £1000 in vouchers, were able to use them in loads of places. It was very helpful especially at Christmas.

GymBergerac · 10/12/2023 15:34

Nope, never anything - however LOADS of my friends have won big things - lottery, make me a winner etc....... so maybe I'm some kind of 'winning talisman'
I'm open to making new friends if anyone wants to see if the luck continues!! 😂

RougeFraise · 10/12/2023 15:37

A diamond ring.

Topofthemountain · 10/12/2023 15:39

DS won tickets for a football match from Match of the Day magazine.

I told him he was probably the only one who entered.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 10/12/2023 15:41

Dinner for two at a nice restaurant. I was a uni student at the time so it was much appreciated 😊

IdontPracticeSanteria · 10/12/2023 15:45

No, absolutely nothing of note. And I have played the lottery since I was 16, the most I've won on that is £50!

Play the make me a winner radio comp every week. Never won on that either.

Have entered tons of raffles etc, and have never won anything from those either!!

Mydogisagentleman · 10/12/2023 15:48

Me and my DD won £10k on a telly quiz competition recently. We are going to NY in July

Singsonggsu · 10/12/2023 15:50

I won a Phil Collins LP, No Jacket Required, in 1985 I think it was! Nothing before or since 😅

Bluevelvetsofa · 10/12/2023 15:50

Nothing, ever. No premium bond win, no raffle win, no £10 lottery win, absolutely nothing at all. I’ve given up.

ohtowinthelottery · 10/12/2023 15:53

I once (about 15 years ago) won £1000 prize on a local charity lottery. I upped my entry to 2 numbers about 8 years ago and have never even won so much as a £10 prize since my big win.

RestingCatsArseFace · 10/12/2023 15:57

I have never won anything of financial value. Once won a massage sponge in a draw, yippeee! But what really made me happy was winning a photo competition, first prize in one category and runner up in another. The certificates are worth a lot to me.

Startyabastard · 10/12/2023 15:59

NS&I prizes have been good for me, £50-£100 here and there but if you added them all up it's quite good.
Not a huge win, but far greater probability than the lottery. I don't generally enter prize draws, lottery or otherwise.

SugarCookieMonster · 10/12/2023 15:59

DH won a PS4 when they were the latest console through a competition in a paper. He entered online, forgot about it and thought it was a scam email at first but luckily it was genuine.

He also won an iPad Pro at work and in the same draw he also won a £20 Amazon voucher but told them to draw again!

I won some hand cream in my work but not quite the same 😂
