£201m jackpot on the Euromillions tomorrow. If you won, what is the first thing you're buying?

Paying my mortgage off would be the first thing. After that i have no idea, actually thats an amount of money i can't even comprehend

Delphigirl · 07/12/2023 15:09

Ooh nice.
pay off mortgage
pay off sisters mortgage
buy flat in london
buy brother a house
give brother and sister £5m each
Invest the rest, including £50m in a charitable foundation

Alohapotato · 07/12/2023 15:09

3 bedroom house with garden and garage.

EmotionSickness · 07/12/2023 15:09

Book a massive celebratory dinner
Book a very long holiday
Pay off SIL mortgage & give them a big lump sum
Same for my DB and his DW
Start looking for our own new house

ButterCupPie · 07/12/2023 15:10

Arrange to invest ethically, and not tell a living soul.

jersydress · 07/12/2023 15:10

Book a holiday and consider moving to a sunnier country.

Alohapotato · 07/12/2023 15:11

Have you all bought an euromillions ticket? I do dream about winning but I almost never buy a ticket so...

Strawberryshortcake90 · 07/12/2023 15:12

School fees, I’d whip my kids straight out of their state primary. Then probably book some flights to the Caribbean for a couple of weeks while I thought about what to do with the rest.

OneMiniMincePieTooFar · 07/12/2023 15:12

A month in a remote cottage so I can take time and space to think about how I use this money for good (for me, family, others) and not allow it to be a destructive force.

Unabletomitigate · 07/12/2023 15:13

Buy a huge chunk of Scotland and start rewilding it. And build affordbale houses for the people in the area.

Iloveanicegarden · 07/12/2023 15:14

Support several local charities. Maybe help younger members of the family with purchase of own home. Nothing I need now except maybe a home in a warm country.

Littlecatonthefence · 07/12/2023 15:14

Oh i love this game!!

Book large family holiday with both sets of parents and brothers sisters etc, it would be a private jet to Florida, id book the most VIP package for disney land think like kim kardashian package that we wouldn't queue for a single thing.

After that 2 wee holiday we would fly to Dubai , i want to stay in the aquarium room in the atlantic but only for a few nights for the kids as i dont think i could do it for long. then move up to the penthouse with my family taking over the floor.

Then id come home and start house hunting but would be happy staying in ours until we found our perfect forever home.

And then have a 4th baby 😍

Can you tell ive thought about this alot lol.

TreesWelliesKnees · 07/12/2023 15:15

I'd book a family holiday for two weeks this Christmas, including my parents. Somewhere warm and beautiful. But I wouldn't tell anyone, even them, about the win. I'd just say it was a treat due to a work bonus. Then I'd spend next year quietly mulling over what to do with it. I'd give up work, but I'd keep that quiet too. It's an amount that could mess with your head and your relationships very easily. I'd take it all really really slowly.

Yes! Would love to be a secret millionaire. Never understand why anyone would tick the publicity box

A bigger home first. Then an electric car or two. A nice holiday then think about what to do with the rest. Some in trust for kids to have when they reach a sensible age lol. Some to charities. Invest some. I mean what would you do with so much money?

kiwimelonlime · 07/12/2023 15:17

Yes please!!

  • Buy DM the best, most experienced medical team I could to give her some quality of life
  • Sell House and buy a Seaside property in Devon / Dorset
  • Buy a Food Van to sell just Cream teas and travel all around Festival's with DH, 2x DCs and DDog in tow!

If you never buy a ticket, but do buy a ticket and win £201m, do I get a bonus fee for prompting you to get a ticket? 🙏

I'd buy the house near me on the river that i've been eyeing... Its £2.8m. Big and old and needs a refurb.
I have quite a few people I would buy houses for.
Plan a trip to Disney world cos i've always wanted to go there.
Finally fly to NZ in First class instead of economy!
Lots more travelling and lots of charity donations.
Driving lessons, hopefully pass and buy a Mercedes.
Get DH an old Toyota Land cruiser he's always wanted.
I'm sure there's more I could do/buy 😆

Lacoutine · 07/12/2023 15:18

We have very advanced plans - DP and I bicker about them (lightheartedly) whenever there is a massive jackpot like this. I want to give most of it away, having paid off obvious debts etc, both to family members but most to a charitable foundation. I like our house, where we live etc and from what I can see, hugely changing your lifestyle a bit of a recipe for disaster (especially for the kids).
DP is keener to upgrade our lifestyle (agrees to give some away but not as big a proportion as me), and to invest so we could live off the interest and never work again. But I like my job! Maybe part time
We do play one line Lucky Dip whenever the jackpot is over £50m, so in theory it could be us, but it certainly doesn’t deserve the amount of time we’ve spent discussing it 😂

gotomomo · 07/12/2023 15:19

Retirement! I have enough stuff for two lifetimes, time I want. We would go traveling initially then perhaps think about a place somewhere warm to spend each winter

PinkPlantCase · 07/12/2023 15:19

Hire a nanny 😂

Renovate the house.

What if you like the hermit life too much and never come back for the winnings?!

Give plenty of it to really worthy charities. Trusell Trust Samaritans Barnados. Give out the rest between me my son and a few friends. Stop working.

Verv · 07/12/2023 15:19

First thing - A large cedar wood Swiss Style chalet/lodge in the Cairngorms.

gotomomo · 07/12/2023 15:20

If the kids are lucky I'd pay off student loans, and give them £100k each as house deposits but I believe you should work.
