Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

We have a TV in our room but I never watch it, I'd prefer it wasn't there. Oh thinks I'm the only person in the world who doesn't watch TV in bed. Anyone else not have a TV in the bedroom?

Me too. Mine's got a Sky Q mini box attached so it has everything on there that the main TV does. I watch it every single evening before going to sleep.

Yes! We’ve got a sky box up there too, would never go back!

OnlyFannys · 04/12/2023 19:23

I do and much prefer watching TV on that as more comfortable and warmer. I have a sky q mini box so hardly watch TV downstairs. 8 year old DD has TV and sky in their room as well but only have an hour or so in the evening on theirs as they wind down

SwordToFlamethrower · 04/12/2023 19:24

No

JoeLovesGina · 04/12/2023 19:25

We have one and use it as an alarm clock. DH watches it when he comes to bed as it helps him get to sleep. I rarely watch it but quite often play radio channels on it.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/12/2023 19:29

No. DH would watch late into the night and the light and noise would be too disturbing for me.

halfthesun · 04/12/2023 19:30

No TV in bedroom / lots of books 📚

StrictlyComeSnoozing · 04/12/2023 19:32

No. I don't like TV in the bedroom.

fingerguns · 04/12/2023 19:35

Nope, we have a TV in our living room but I do wish it was a lot smaller than it is.

No I don't - and I think they should be banned from being on in bedrooms! Bedrooms are for SLEEPING in FFS! It's one of the reasons me and DH had to move to a detached property. Our master bedroom was joined onto the master bedroom next door, and the woman who lived there, had her bloody TV on til 1am and 2am some days. We would go to bed to try and get to sleep at 11pm (as we had work the next day,) and all we could hear was her fucking TV against the wall. So selfish and thoughtless. Hmm

Edited

I bet she was asleep 🤣🤣🤣

We have one because we used to watch tv in bed pre kids. Now we're too knackered so don't use it at all! Occasionally the kids like to set up camp in our bed and watch a film on it on a rainy weekend day but otherwise it's a bit redundant.

ExTheCheater · 04/12/2023 19:37

We do but we rarely watch it. Some Sundays though we might lay in bed all day watching movies (not done it in months but plan to this weekend). Love a chilled day in bed.

StillWantingADog · 04/12/2023 19:37

No. But I do watch stuff on my iPad in bed.

jay55 · 04/12/2023 19:38

No but I do stream so much on my iPad in bed that I've thought I might as well.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 04/12/2023 19:44

No. Have never wanted one in the bedroom. DH would never be able to switch it off.
I used to have one in the kitchen. Was good to be able to listen to quizzes when I was cooking.

Hbh17 · 04/12/2023 19:44

Yes, just a small one, and it's the only TV in the house. I have never had a TV in my living room, as I don't like them dominating public spaces. Everyone is different, there are no rules....

Nowherenew · 04/12/2023 19:45

I’ve never had a TV in my bedroom, as I have a dog who needs to be let out before I go bed and when I wake up.

But as part of my strategy of learning to cope when my elderly dog dies, I think of things that I’ll be able to do when she’s gone.

One of the first things I’m going to do is get a TV in my room!

I can’t think of anything better than snuggling up in my bed early evening when it’s really cold and watching a movie.

Or getting a cup of coffee in the morning and taking it back up to bed and have a lazy morning.

I am single though, so I don’t need to worry about disturbing someone/being disturbed.

QueSyrahSyrah · 04/12/2023 19:49

We don't have one and I wouldn't have one.

Very very occasionally we might watch something on a laptop in bed, but that's usually if someone is ill.

Bedrooms are for sleep, reading, scrolling TikTok, sex, peace & quiet.

starfishmummy · 04/12/2023 19:50

We don't. Both dh and I are short sighted so when we do have one - on holiday - we usually can't see it properly anyway.

BettyOBarley · 04/12/2023 19:53

Same as you - yes we have one but we never watch it.
Sometimes the kids will chill on our bed for half an hour and watch it, but that's it.
I'd never think to go to bed and watch TV, dunno why. We don't have multi room though, so not many channels on it.

purplecorkheart · 04/12/2023 19:56

Used to when in Uni.

I won quite a fancy tv/aka complicated in a raffle a few years ago but I never watched it so gave it away to a neighbour who was looking for one on facebook.I do watch my tablet in bed but the advantage is it is up close so I don't need to wear glasses to watch.

Even in hotels I tend to not watch the tv that much and stick with my tablet.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 04/12/2023 19:58

No - never have but then we don’t watch that much tv

MyLadyTheKingsMother · 04/12/2023 19:59

We do, it's a relatively new thing as my dad randomly brought round a TV he no longer wanted.

I watch it occasionally if I'm cold and tired or ill. DH loves it for getting a bit of space away from the kids in the day.

Poppysmom22 · 04/12/2023 20:01

Yep love mine talks me to sleep every night. Not sure I've ever actually watched anything on it, it's just there chattering away.

OldTinHat · 04/12/2023 20:01

I never have until the past year when I was given one for free. I only use it in the winter because my duvet is cheaper than the heating!

Oh the days before young kids where I’d used to come home from work, get under my duvet and watch a film in bed surrounded by snacks. I love my kids but honestly miss those days more than partying or being able to go anywhere on a whim.
