Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

We have a TV in our room but I never watch it, I'd prefer it wasn't there. Oh thinks I'm the only person in the world who doesn't watch TV in bed. Anyone else not have a TV in the bedroom?

I don't and I'm surprised that your partner thinks everyone has one

Google suggests it's 50/50 but even if it wasn't your allowed to make your own mind up 😀

Mcemmabell · 04/12/2023 18:59

I would never. Bedroom is for sleeping, reading books and... Well other things. 🤣 When I moved into my house, the previous owners had a wall mounted TV in every bedroom, the lounge and the dining room. We patched up all the holes and are quite happy with just having a TV in the lounge.

Scampuss · 04/12/2023 19:00

Yes.

My bedroom is also my study/office and craft-room so serves multiple purposes, not just sleeping!

avocadotofu · 04/12/2023 19:01

No. I would personally hate having one.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 04/12/2023 19:02

Yes, I do. I watch it most nights when I can't sleep, it helps to block out the images and sounds going round in my head.

fishonabicycle · 04/12/2023 19:02

Nope. Never have had - I know if we did my husband would just fall asleep watching it, I stead of watching downstairs. It would keep my awake! I like to read quietly in bed before sleep.

HollyJollyRobin · 04/12/2023 19:02

No TV in our bedroom! On the rare occasion we want to watch something in bed, we'll use the laptop!

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 04/12/2023 19:02

We do, and I love it. DH can play his xbox and I can curl up under my thick duvet and watch the TV shies DH hates. I also watch it when getting ready to go out.

I wouldn't say we watch it loads though.

GetWhatYouWant · 04/12/2023 19:03

No I don't have a TV in the bedroom. The only time I ever did was as a student 40 years ago, never since then. Neither do my siblings in their fifties or my children in their thirties. We watch TV in our living rooms. I can only think of one friend that does. Neither do I watch anything on tablet or phone in my bedroom.

ExtraOnions · 04/12/2023 19:03

Yep … and on cold evenings, I snuggle under the duvet, with my comfy pillows, and watch any number of things.

..and DH & I have a perfectly healthy relationship

Sunsept · 04/12/2023 19:04

No.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 04/12/2023 19:05

Nope, my bedroom is my sanctuary away from shit tv and noise

TheChosenTwo · 04/12/2023 18:18

Yes and I bloody love it.

Me too. Mine's got a Sky Q mini box attached so it has everything on there that the main TV does. I watch it every single evening before going to sleep.

DRS1970 · 04/12/2023 19:07

No, but we both have small tablets if we want to watch anything in bed.

Gnomegnomegnome · 04/12/2023 19:08

No but I very rarely watch tv anyway. If it wasn’t for Dh I wouldn’t have one in the house.

Well, all those things aren't mutually exclusive.

ActDottie · 04/12/2023 19:10

No and never will.

dutysuite · 04/12/2023 19:10

Yes but I never watch it, infact I hardly watch TV at all.

thinslicedham · 04/12/2023 19:12

We have one, used daily. I like it for winding down.

christologymum · 04/12/2023 19:12

I do and I love it.

I must admit I usually have a bath about 7 and get in bed and watch tv. Kids are in there rooms anyway so it's warmer upstairs and I can lock up and set up in bed for night. I don't have any trouble sleeping, and it's only same as lying on sofa I guess. That's my time but then I'm on my own so don't have to entertain a partner 🤣

As sad as it is working from home I'm downstairs all day so I quite enjoy going up to bed early and relaxing.

Fieldofbrokenpromises · 04/12/2023 19:12

No tv in bedroom

madaboutmad · 04/12/2023 19:13

Yes, for the news at the weekend with a cup of tea! It’s on the wall and looks like a picture the rest of the time!

Lancasterel · 04/12/2023 19:14

We do. Rarely used to watch it until we both had Covid in February and were so shattered for about a month after that TV in bed was all we could manage in the evenings. Now we’ve realised how warm and cosy it is, and how much easier it is to go into the kids in the evening if need be 😂, we watch in bed most evenings!

onestepfromgrace · 04/12/2023 19:21

No and we don’t use phones or tablets or laptops in the bedroom either.

Sex, Sleep and Snoring that’s it.

anothertrainwreck · 04/12/2023 19:21

Yes we do. I don’t make a routine of watching it so I don’t think it interferes with other bedroom activities but it’s nice to have as an occasional thing
