Young as in young in life.

old 65 plus
maybe

saveforthat · 02/12/2023 18:00

I think this will depend on your age surely. To me 29 is very young.

Riverlee · 02/12/2023 18:01

No. But depends on the context you are talking about.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 02/12/2023 18:01

It’s quite young.

GreyCarpet · 02/12/2023 18:01

Well given you've only been an adult for 11 years by that point, yes, in the context of a whole life, 29 is young.

FiddleLeaf · 02/12/2023 18:02

Yes. You’re babies in your twenties.

OnlyFannys · 02/12/2023 18:02

middle 30-65
old 65 plus
maybe

That's about right to me as well

Agree, I'm early 40s. To me 29 is still a youngster.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 02/12/2023 18:02

Old is 80 plus to me.

funinthesun19 · 02/12/2023 18:03

Yes

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 02/12/2023 18:04

I remember thinking 24 was old. I was about 13 at the time though.

Waitingfordoggo · 02/12/2023 18:07

Depends entirely on your perspective! I do remember at 29 feeling like turning 30 was a scary prospect and a big thing. I knew I was expected to be a grown-up at this point but didn’t particularly feel like one.*

30 came and went and so did 40 and I’m a fair bit past that now. So to me now, yes 29 is very young. I probably think of people in their 20s as kids really. Not in a derogatory way, but just still so much of life ahead. Especially given that the brain isn’t fully developed until aged about 25.

*Am definitely supposed to be a grown-up now but still not really feeling like one.

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 02/12/2023 18:07

It's young given average life expectancy.

But context is important, it too old to still have temper tantrums or sucking your thumb.

Anewuser · 02/12/2023 18:08

If you’re 10 years old then 29 is well old. However, if you’re an adult then 29 is young. Context is what’s important.

ginasevern · 02/12/2023 18:09

I'm in my sixties and would love to be 29 again. To answer the question, yes 29 is young. You just don't realise it at the time. Make the most of it!

Arggghhhhhhhh · 02/12/2023 18:11

I do now!

mummyh2016 · 02/12/2023 18:13

Depends on the context. If it's to have a baby then no. If it's to retire then yes.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/12/2023 18:14

Of course.

Young - 0-30 or 35
35-40 - no category
40-60 middle aged
60+ old

JamSandle · 02/12/2023 18:14

Absolutely yes.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/12/2023 18:16

OnlyFannys · 02/12/2023 18:02

That's about right to me as well

I wouldn't say a 30 year old is middle aged.
Neither is a 60-65 year old - they have a right to a free bus pass because they are old and for much of my life women retired at 60.

Mrsgreen100 · 02/12/2023 18:18

Good question, currently trying to decide when my child should inherit , she’s got awfully bad taste in partners ,
having been fleeced and completely defrauded by her father after a 25 year relationship, never did he contribute then stole from me etc ,
realise I’ve not shown her how to put herself first etc
im skint have lots of mortgaged properties but only just paying my bills , if I sell now there will be f all left .
BUT in time there will be some money for her to inherit
I’m thinking of putting an age caveat for 35
shes currently 20 I’m 60 yes

Sonolanona · 02/12/2023 18:19

I had four children by 29... and was a responsible adult!
My DD1 is 31 and a GP... and I think she looks too young to be a doctor Grin
It all depends on which end of the age scale you are looking from!!!
