I think the time has come to get a bit of magic into our houses without people thinking you are crazy for putting the tree up this early. 🙂

Let's use this thread not to boast but perhaps to give each other some ideas or motivate each other to slowly get into a Christmas mood. It's been a tough year for many myself included and whilst I did take the box with the tree out I am still waiting for this final push to start setting it up/decorating. Would love to see all your beautiful Christmas trees.

Ours is going up at the weekend. With 3 cats it'll also be coming down this weekend.

What’s this new trend of people putting trees / decs up early ? A couple of people over the road have had theirs up for 2 weeks. I don’t remember this being a thing before

I think it was covid. People decided fuck it!

Not sure why people get so pissed off and annoyed when someone puts up their tree before it is deemed acceptable by them!

I will put ours up this weekend or next, depending on when DH can get the stuff out the loft, but I LOVE seeing Xmas trees through people's windows, all twinkly and pretty on a dark evening.

We've had an awful few months, 3 family members having surgery, an other very ill with cancer and the loss of a much loved Grandad/Dad. The tree and decorations make the kids feel brighter so they're up.
Each to their own.
Maybe before some people ridicule others for being "too early" they should consider there might be a need for a little cheer, in any way possible. 🎄

I agree Covid played a big part but in general I think people have had a tough few years ever since. Many of my closest friends have been deeply affected either by Brexit, losing dear ones during Covid, ongoing wars or now are struggling through the rising costs of basic things. It seems like people are trying to extend Christmas and the joy that comes with it as much as they can and considering the costs that go into decorations and everything why not enjoy it a bit longer.

Hoping to put my own tree up this week and post a photo. Love all the pictures so far 😍

Mine won't be here until next week, but here is the lovely big tree in Leadenhall Market in the meantime 😊

Anyone got any good places in London to go for the best lights? Not Regent Street as seen them a lot, thank you!

Leadenhall Market is in the City of London (pretty much behind the Walkie Talkie) and I think bits of it were used in some of the Harry Potter films. The tree has lights which change colour but I don't think there's a way to post a video 🤔.

New Bond Street and Carnaby Street have good lights but there are decorations all over the place now - I went to look last weekend. Selfridges Christmas windows are also up 😊

My tree is a rental from Christmas On The Hill, who deliver living trees in their pots in early December and collect them just after New Year so they're not indoors for too long and can go back outside with the other trees for the rest of the year.

I've had the same one for three years (you can put a tag on them with your name so they can come back). It's one of my favourite Christmas things
