to think that, mothers that do not even try to breastfeed, are selfish and perhaps lazy?

Why do you care what other people do! Stick to trimming your own hedge!

TheWiltedRose · 13/03/2008 10:18

YABU

i tried with ds1 and found it unnatural to me therefore did not bother trying with ds2 as i knew i felt the same.

Whats the poin in breastfeeding which supposedly is supposed to bring you closer together when all you can think about i "this feels wrong"?

On the remotest chance that this is not a wind up, I will say that the people I know who have decided not to try always say "I was formula fed and I am perfectly healthy".

JeremyVile · 13/03/2008 10:19

What an interesting question.

In my case, I decided not to breastfeed as I am rather selfish an perhaps a bit lazy.

Or if you're not, you should be.

IMHO.

gingerninja · 13/03/2008 10:20

mrsruffallo · 13/03/2008 10:20

Of course everyone should at least try it- that should be the nornm. It's what our breasts are for and made for baby humans

rantinghousewife · 13/03/2008 10:20

mrsdannydyer · 13/03/2008 10:21

It might be whats best for baby but do you not think that a baby can tll hen the mother is ffeeling uncomfotable and that it doesnt make for a very secure feeling in baby?

HereComeTheGirls · 13/03/2008 10:21

Are you one of the people who used to give me dirty looks when bottle feeding my DD, even though it was expressed milk as she has hypotonia and couldn't latch on....everyone's circumstances are different...you shouldn't judge!

bruhaha · 13/03/2008 10:21

yabu why should it bother you what other mums do - it's not affecting your children or they way you feed them.

i might get my popcorn out for this one as well

herny · 13/03/2008 10:21

yes you RBU its personal choice...

Monkeybird · 13/03/2008 10:21

excellent! an illiterate post calling a troll illiterate.

I can't get any better can I?

peanutbear · 13/03/2008 10:22

Oh go d can I point out nicely that really this wasnt the best thread to start
everyone has got out popcorn because they know that this thread is going to leave a nasty taste in someones mouth

I am a BF counsellor and FWIW I think you are being really unreasonable some poeple dont have a decision on how they feed some do and choose not to or choose to try

NO body should be made to feel guilty whatever they do as you have 18 years to raise a child what you feed them in their first few months is nothing compared to how you will raise them into adults
