Is it just becoming the norm? How is everyone affording it in a cost of living crisis?

Ive noticed this too .. lip filler isnt expensive really.

Hullabalooza · 22/11/2023 22:24

Yes and it looks gross. Hoping it fizzles out soon.

XenoBitch · 22/11/2023 22:25

How people afford it is their own business... but it becoming a norm is worrying. How many women will be getting it to appear to meet some new standard of normal (much like shaving legs/armpits), rather than actually wanting it?

Twelveisthebestnumber · 22/11/2023 22:25

Because it is worryingly cheap when given by people looking to make a quick buck.

TenaciousTortoise · 22/11/2023 22:26

I think a little can look nice, but most people have no idea of the line between looking nice and what the guys around us would have said growing up… BJ lips.

It is everywhere though

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 22/11/2023 22:27

I think it looks awful.

OhNoOhNo · 22/11/2023 22:27

No idea, I’m too lazy to bother and would rather spend the money on other things. Not really bothered for the most part about what others do or hoe they spend their money.

I did see a 24yo actress had got them done and I was surprised as she was naturally beautiful and the bigger lips just looked unnatural and made her face puffy.

I remember thinking if a 24yo natural beauty feels the need to succumb to this nonsense then what hope for ordinary mortals.

Rainbowshit · 22/11/2023 22:27

It looks awful. I just don't get it.

CremeEggSupremacy · 22/11/2023 22:27

The bad kind of lip filler you’re referring to is everywhere because it’s cheap. Good lip filler that isn’t noticeable as being filler costs a lot more. Unfortunately there is little to no regulation in the injectables space so any random weirdo can perform cheap and bad lip filler

HardcoreLadyType · 22/11/2023 22:27

It mostly looks stupid, as well, and nothing like people with naturally full lips.

Missingmyusername · 22/11/2023 22:29

Lip filler will pass, it’ll be replaced with something else.

howshouldibehave · 22/11/2023 22:29

So many people have them done, it’s made a lot of naturally pretty women look bloody awful.

Astridastro · 22/11/2023 22:30

I got some in June, thought why not just wondered what it would be like. I immediately regretted it I thought it looked stupid. I only got a little and thought it just looked so obvious, it was better once it calmed down a bit. I’m glad I got it as an experiment but unless you’ve got really thin lips I think it looks noticeable straight away that sort of turned up look but that’s the in look. Each to their own.

RampantIvy · 22/11/2023 22:31

I don't like the look at all.

I was in Flannels the other day, and all the sales girls in the beauty department having a make up tutorial had very obviously filled lips. They looked like caricatures.

Missingmyusername · 22/11/2023 22:32

So does high street Botox. There’s a school mum who hides her face when she smiles. God knows what she’s done, it’s like it’s injected in her forehead and trickled down her face.

Catsandcuddles · 22/11/2023 22:33

I don't like it either and there are very few people with it who I've thought looked better with it!

Each to their own I guess

You can have it removed in most cases. Most filler these days is made of a material the body already produces so can be broken down. But yeah it does look much better on already bigger lips because there’s more space for it to fill out…much more noticeable on thin lips especially if done badly

Pooooochi · 22/11/2023 22:34

I've really noticed this too, i think it looks awful and its immediately noticeable around the lip line.

Too much of this fake crap quickly maks 25 year olds look like mutton.

crumbaliba · 22/11/2023 22:35

It just feels like those kind of duck face pout lips were a joke for a while and now they're just accepted as standard.

I disagree with this , those that are naturally pretty will still be without having lip filler , I know plenty of peopoe who don't have it who look lovely as they are

I think you have misunderstood what I said.

I think naturally pretty women are making themselves look awful by having their lips filled.

olderbutwiser · 22/11/2023 22:47

Grim. Shrieks “stick your dick in my gob” to me.

Loveandloveandlove · 22/11/2023 22:48

It looks bloody ridiculous in my opinion. I don’t understand why anyone thinks it looks good.

MadCatLady27 · 22/11/2023 22:48

I think it looks awful. Wonder if any health repercussions will come out down the line. Half of the can't even speak properly as their lips won't move

It doesn't help so many ladies on TV (e.g. love island, even the apprentice) have it so it's probably making others feel like they have to do it as that's what people like/want

TheChosenTwo · 22/11/2023 22:51

I know a couple of people that have had it done. Not loads. Definitely not the majority of people I know. Unless it’s so undetectable that I haven’t noticed!
Not everyone has been crippled by the cost of living crisis. My circle all seem to be spending as before.
