To wonder how Vernon Kay got away with it?

"In 2010, Kay was forced to apologise to his wife after it was revealed in the British press that he had been sending sexually explicit text and social media messages to model Rhian Sugden every day for four months. Later on, he admitted to sending similar messages to "four or five" other women at the same time." (From Wikipedia).

I was just wondering about it as I have him on the radio working at home today.

We would all have been telling Tess to LTB on here. I actually don't think he did anything physical with any of them, but I wouldn't have stayed with him.

I saw a programme (might have been about page 3) where the woman he messaged was on there saying that when it came out she lost her job etc and he lost nothing.
She said it was messages more along the lines of how nice she looked rather than explicit but who knows.
Im sure there was a furore at the time but it passed and it’s the same for every celebrity who cheats (note David beckham, Wayne Rooney, list goes on)

I guess he admitted it and Tess forgave him. It was up to her really, AFAIK there was no criminal element to it. Unfortunately it's not against the law to be a twat.

Do you mean ‘got away with’ professionally as well as with his wife?

With regards to his wife forgiving him that’s her decision entirely. And professionally I don’t see that there should be any repercussions. Hardly the crime of the century, exchanging dirty texts with a woman who’s not your wife.

Tbh I wouldn't say he did get away with it as such, after that happened he was out of the limelight for a really long time, it was only when he did well on I'm a Celebrity a few years ago that he started working properly again.

I wouldn't put Tess Daly in the same bracket as "women who married famous and wealthy husbands". She is famous off her own bat and more famous than her husband and probably makes a lot more than him.

He absolutely should not lose his job and neither should the other woman. Cheating even emotionally is shit but doesn't call for one's whole life to be entirely down the pan. Its none of our business why they stayed together really, we don't know what conversations went on bts and shouldn't judge her for that

@LakeTiticaca Wayne Rooney makes Vernon Kay look amateur. Coleen Rooney has a book coming out this week, and some snippets from an interview afe:

"A diligent student, she realised then she could no longer combine revision for her A-levels in English literature, media studies and performing arts with being a supportive girlfriend. She dropped out of school."

In her memoir she writes: 'Wayne's a great dad' adding: 'Every time he's gone off the rails, it's been a stupid, drunken, spur-of-the-moment thing.' And for anyone who is still unclear on this point, the romance is still very much alive. 'My message,' says Rooney, 'is if there's something to work at, if the love's still there, why would you throw that away? Mistakes have happened, but I've always known Wayne's loved me.' In reality, the couple has weathered more storms than we knew.

I had an MRI the other week and they played his show through the headphones, worst 45 mins of my life!

What are you trying to say? That people who cheat emotionally or physically on their partners should lose their jobs?
