It's a fair point that lots of men get away with this sort of public cheating on their wives and it doesn't dent their careers (or marriages). Doesn't happen so much with women who cheat on their husbands, everyone knows about it and they stay popular, apart from Amanda Holden. It's probably just old-fashioned stuff about men being allowed to shag around but women are harlots and temptresses if they do.

I guess women are conditioned to "be kind", "it was just a mistake" etc and that's why Tess forgave him. Plus you feel you have a lot to lose to blow up your life when DC are involved. Maybe there's a bit of boiled frog too - forgive one thing and then the next and the next.

She should have dumped him but ultimately its between them. He probably saw the other women as sexual objects and his interaction as little more than salivating over a kebab which makes it worse as it shows him up as a man who sees women as objects to be used and a deep lack of respect for his wife and their relationship.

This is definitely the case. It's always the woman who is demonised. Look at Rebecca Loos and those girls who were involved with Wayne Rooney. They are always vilified because the poor man couldn't resist their wicked charms.

There might be a bit of a scandal and press interest initially but it never does the celebrity any harm in the long run.

Well he wouldn't have married you so it's immaterial. If you want to see why women stay with men who cheat, there's a zillion threads on Relationships, but they're all case by case, everyone's marriage is different, obviously.
