I was just wondering about it as I have him on the radio working at home today.

We would all have been telling Tess to LTB on here. I actually don't think he did anything physical with any of them, but I wouldn't have stayed with him.

With CR, I do not doubt that she is smart and intelligent, and just made a call on her life direction when she was 17. However, unlike TD her success and influence is purely derived from being WR wife. This puts her in a vulnerable position, and would not be something I would recommend to any other younger women.

Yes, Lily James got a lot of stick for that alleged affair (was it ever confirmed?) which was misogynistic, when she wasn’t the married person. I don’t think it has damaged her career though which is good.

@LoreleiG I think the affair made her and Dominic West's career soar. He had also fallen off the radar then suddenly gets The Crown. She then gets the Pamela doc which makes her more Hollywood. I think these stories make normal people judge them but give producers etc a different view of them.

Yes I didn't think of that. She went from ' sweet and innocent' to Pamela Anderson' . They were canoodling with their agent next to them, so maybe it was a stunt? Bit of a nasty thing to do to humiliate your wife and children for your career.

Yes Colleen also met Wayne when she was very young. She's doesn't really know any different. He was also sleeping with prostitutes before they were married and she still married him. She would be very rich if she divorced him, but would likely not have the profile and woukd have less control over Wayne while he has her children. Victoria Beckham has a career outside David but stays. Dominic Wests wife is some kind of aristo heiress but agreed to thst humiliating press conference outside her house. Who knows? People make different decisions based on their family and what they are prepared to put up with.

I think he 'got away' with it because people are still listening to him on the radio and helping the listening figures.

But ultimately if his wife decided to forgive him and people have continued to listen to his radio show, there really isn't anything to complain about.

Because they are a 'brand' and a divorce and gossip columns would be bad for her wholesome image.

And she forgave him. For all we know they might have an open marriage.

I guess it didn't end David Pleat's managerial career either but I'm really quite uneasy about celebrities using prostitutes, for me it crosses a line. Unfaithfulness is one thing but buying someone vulnerable for sex is just wrong on a whole other level.

Yes that is true. Fidelity is very a very middle class obsession! doubt LJ was the first, and shes quite posh too. They were shagging on the set of Pursuit of Love, and his own daughter was on set!!!

Apparently Vernon is off for a week and Paddy McGuinness is covering his show. This is the way to lose all the remaining viewers who have stuck with R2. Paddy McGuinness is a dreadful presenter.

@Mirrormeback I like him and Greg James. I've gone off Zoe a bit lately too, don't mind Scott Mills but Sara Cox is unlistenable for me, she tries too hard to be zany with the way she talks and she is doing the same on the Between the Covers book show she presents. And that manic "featuring the fantastic listeners" bit, the daft quiz where she plays speeded up and slowed down tracks, and the Muppets - please make it stop.

Agree. Didn't she tell the papers? IIRC she was the one who sold the story and, yes she was a page 3 girl. Why would they sack her for kissing and telling about a celebrity? It was their bread and butter! She's been dining out on it ever since!

He didn't really get away with it. His reputation took a battering and he has been trying hard to rehabilitate it but is not as popular as he used to be.

Well his reputation is right up there now. The radio is all about him this morning as hes raised four million for Children in Need and his wife is super proud. I cant get excited by a blip in their marriage years ago.
