Husband is meanypegs

Belleweather · 25/10/2023 22:33

I'm naturally very blonde, platinum. Menopause causing hair thinness and my DD cut my very long hair off for me to a chin length blunt bob 3 weeks ago. I'm only 49 Ffs. Today my husband (? Hmm) said to guests at a dinner that he thought I looked like Jimmy Saville. AIBU to never like him again? Utterly humiliated. I am a lot younger than him and he has done this sort of thing before. So hurt and embarrassed, Considering shaving my head.

A blonde professor in Newcastle who has just had a haircut- that isnt outing is it?

Yeah, if she looks like JS and was a lone parent a month ago but now has a shitty husband.

wesurecouldstandgladioli · 26/10/2023 16:30

If this is real, i would love to see the dickhead’s reaction to your shaved head!

Meanypegs is a bit twee, mean pig would have sufficed.

Clunk click, every snip

This all depends whether or not you do look like Jimmy Saville. Photo?

😭😂😂😂

I'm crying 😭

I’m crying with you @WideLegPant
🤣🤣🤣

What a strange week it has been on Mumsnet…

Accidental expensive double order at work warranting, at the very least, an “oh fuck!” instead gets “Oh crab cakes!”

Partner who is blatantly behaving like a cunt gets described as a “meanypegs” 🤦‍♀️

I think there has been another… 🤔

‘Unfortunately, now that he’s getting on a bit, the only way he can get it up is if I put on my shell suit and offer to fix it for him” would be an ideal retort if he ever tries that again…

😂😂 Much better than calling him meanypegs.

FieldInWhichFucksAreGrownIsBarren · 26/10/2023 22:53

I mean I actually CBA to read the whole thread but I've yet to meet anyone who is naturally platinum blonde...

There are three in my family, sisters, my cousins. They get it from their mums side.

@CopernicusCalled is spot on.

Acornsoup · 27/10/2023 11:46

He is meanypegs all right OP. Who does he think he is? I bet he's like Jimmifuckingcrankie 😐 treat yourself to a new do and a new DH.

IDontLoveTheWayYouLie · 25/10/2023 23:30

On a serious note, no he shouldn't have said you look like Jimmy Saville.

Are you more of a Dave Lee Travis?

He's not a Meanypegs - whatever that is- he's a tw*t.
Is his appearance perfect?
Thought not.

pollymere · 27/10/2023 18:36

If you're like me and use mild language:

Tell him he has no right to treat you like s**t and talk to you like that. And that if he thinks it's acceptable, then he's welcome to leave.

It's not "a joke" or funny. It's embarrassing and humiliating. Explain that unless there's a grovelling apology which includes the cost of having your hair done somewhere fancy so you can feel better (maybe layers or a wolf cut or something), then you have no wish to be with him anymore.

WiddlinDiddlin · 27/10/2023 18:53

Time for a new wardrobe too OP.

Tshirt with an arrow on it 'IM WITH CUNTYCHOPS' etc.

PUGMEISTER21 · 27/10/2023 19:35

Maybe take the gold tracksuit off? Seriously though, very ill judged comment

Pliudev · 27/10/2023 19:39

I voted YABU because your husband's behaviour is completely unacceptable and, by using the nonsense word, you suggest there is something lighthearted about it.
You need to tell him how rude and cruel his comment was and take it from there. If he's not prepared to take you seriously and doesn't apologise I'd be planning to leave him. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life with an abusive partner ?

Wontontrollop · 27/10/2023 19:40

Brilliant

exaltedwombat · 27/10/2023 19:40

DO you look like Jimmy Savile?

I'm reading 'meany pegs' as a signal that Belleweather isn't THAT upset over all this.

SunflowerSeahorse · 27/10/2023 19:49

He's a wanker

Fluffyrug191 · 27/10/2023 19:50

I think that's hilarious. I would laugh my head off at that but also probably either get a pixie cut or grow it again.
