Husband is meanypegs

Belleweather · 25/10/2023 22:33

I'm naturally very blonde, platinum. Menopause causing hair thinness and my DD cut my very long hair off for me to a chin length blunt bob 3 weeks ago. I'm only 49 Ffs. Today my husband (? Hmm) said to guests at a dinner that he thought I looked like Jimmy Saville. AIBU to never like him again? Utterly humiliated. I am a lot younger than him and he has done this sort of thing before. So hurt and embarrassed, Considering shaving my head.

I’m crying 😭 didn’t expect this this thread to be so funny

TempyBrennan · 26/10/2023 12:42

I thought meanypegs was a typo but apparently not. It’s awful, don’t use it again 😂

Now then, now then, I have here a letter saying that your DH is a prickypeg

Actually laughed out loud at this -very rare occurrence! 😂

Moveoverdarlin · 26/10/2023 12:44

I’d rather be called Jimmy Savile than a Meanypegs whatever the fuck that is.

StripeyDeckchair · 26/10/2023 12:44

YANBU, you husband is and you know that

Mind you, as you are referring to him as a "meanypegs" like a 5 year old I think you're beyond weird.

user1471538283 · 26/10/2023 12:46

Dear god. So he's Brad Pitt is he?

It sounds to me as if you look absolutely stunning with your very blonde bob and he cannot stand it!

EverybodyLTB · 26/10/2023 12:47

So glad I opened this thread. “Trim’ll fix it” and “prickypegs” made me belly laugh. Please can meanypegs get put in the hated words/phrases category with hubby and holibobs?

EverythingYouDoIsaBalloon · 26/10/2023 12:47

'Meanypegs' is pure cringe, but YANBU re what he said, that's a disgusting thing for him to say.

Moveoverdarlin · 26/10/2023 12:49

Go back to the hairdresser. Sure she’ll Fix It For You….(and you and you and ba-ba-baaaa!!)

Neriah · 26/10/2023 12:51

Is it school holidays again already? Or are you both 2?

I agree. I think prickypegs should be used for everyone who's acting like a knob from now on though 😂

I probably shouldn't admit it, but that cracked me up 😂

Oh, come on, it was a joke based on the hair cut. He wasn't saying that she looked like a predatory sex offender FFS.

There was a very funny thread that I can't find (I think it made it to classics) where people talked about clothes, haircuts etc that they'd hoped made them look stylish but didn't quite go to plan and they really looked like Rose West or Great Aunt Agatha.

Which is the spirit that the OP should be taken in. Not that the OP should LTB because he's likening her to a sex offender.

😂

I don't think Bing has a sense of humour. He told me some jokes that didn't make me smile even once!

Rarely do I find MN funny and can never understand the 'spat my coffee out' etc but this genuinely gave me a good laugh.

Not Top of the Bobs then?

This needs to go in classics for this aloneGrinGrinGrin

Another vote for Classics here 😂

JANEY205 · 26/10/2023 12:57

I’d have had to say a comment back. If someone insults me I instantly do it back, like a reflex. But seriously it’s not ok he spoke to you like this and I’d find the public humiliation part hard to get past. My husband has had some awful haircuts and is never make light of it in front of others as it’s just mean.

flaxentoad · 26/10/2023 12:57

I wonder if you can buy meanypegs at Ann Summers?

Lose10kyesterday · 26/10/2023 12:57

CopernicusCalled · 26/10/2023 11:50

A trim'll fix it for you.

Meanypegs? What fresh hell is this phrase?

Hard to get past it really.

CesareBorgia · 26/10/2023 13:03

Perhaps your DD is an opera fan and wants to be the Barber of Savile?
