Holiday tomorrow - I really don't want to go!

Don't have any choice unfortunately but I really don't want to go! Sister booked a Haven break for her two boys, her and me.

I woke up yesterday with the worst cold I've had in ages - I won't go into details but I feel properly crap. Not covid as far as I can tell but I'm a snotty, sore throated mess right now.

I've just seen the caravan we've been given and it's fucking miles from anything, surrounded by fields (which I know for a fact my sister is going to hate!) it means we're going to have to use the car for everything, and I'm not thrilled by that because sis can't physically drive atm so it'll all be on me. I honestly looked at the location and felt like crying 😭

Honestly I just want to stay at home but we're locked in at this point and if I don't go, no one will be able to go. ☹️

"not covid as far as you can tell"?! Either you don't know, or you've had symptoms over 24 hours and you've tested and it's negative. Sorry, but it annoys me when people say stuff like that. Just say you don't know, even if people disagree with you going with covid, it's not illegal. Either way you should at least speak to your sister so it's here choice to share an enclosed space if your that germy. She might decide she is happy to but quickly pops to get her booster vaccine, she might decide no and then your happy anyway, or she might decide yes, and then we'll she can't blame you or you feel bad if she gets ill.

I'm assuming your saying if you don't go one can is that because of driving there? Could they not get a train and then taxi? Or someone take your place? Are you even well enough to focus and drive?

You haven't really asked a question, just had what I would describe as an unreasonable moan.

Reading the OP's updates might be a good way to start. I doubt her sister would be too worried about this specific germs which she had shared earlier herself.

Haha gotta love people who tell off other mumsnetters for not reading the question @ZiriForEver I have had my knuckles rapped and stand corrected. Have her sister’s young ones already had the lurgy? I’m trusting you’ve memorised the whole of this thread and will know 😀

Get there earlier and ask to be moved closer to the club house as your sister can not drive and has two young children , if they can they will move you Haven have moved much caravan loads of times , maybe try calling on the way also , they will help if they can ,unless it's a private caravan x

If you read the full thread you'll see that I've done several covid LFTs - all of which have been neg - and a flu test which was also neg.

So yes, until I get magical powers to know exactly what strain of what virus I've picked up, it's not covid as far as I know.

Both her and the kids had the same symptoms very recently so I'm not worried about passing anything on.

We're here and have been since Mon afternoon so the rest of your points are a bit late!

Why did your sister not look to move caravan nearer beforehand if she has ongoing mobility issues? Could they borrow bikes/mobility scooter?

She doesn't - it was just a badly timed accident! Not that there's ever a good time for an accident but you know what I mean!
