At what age did you had your second DC

DH thinks we are older parents at 40 and 35 respectively. Our friends had DC early in 20s and early 30s. We had our first DC in early 30s and we are planning for second. I have been arguing that we are average age and it's not too late.
Please share your opinions and when you had your second DC

First 21, second 27

2nd I was 27, that was in 2020. Due 3rd at 31 in January.

I had my first child two weeks after I turned 22.

11 months later, I had my second child two days after I turned 23.

Currently 24 with two toddlers😆

DC1 at 33, DC2 at 38. I'm not the oldest or the youngest in the playground, I'm pretty average age.

I had my first at 28 in 2020, and that honestly seemed really young!

1st at 27, 2nd at 36. Definitely not too old or late in your 30s 💗

2nd at 40

36, my son is now 18 and I'm 54, most of my friends had their children much earlier and are Grandparents now.

Shocked at how many had children in their 20’s but how recent is this, it might be 30 years ago!

I only know 2 that had babies in their 20’s….the rest mostly 30’s or no children at all.

I was 21 with my first in 2008.

Your right though, I think the trend tends to be a bit later now. We were the first out of mine and my husbands friends to have children, by about 10 years (bar one other who also married young, she was 23 when she had her first)

I was 23 with my first in 2007 so not 30 years ago. I think it is quite a recent thing waiting until your 30s.

Had first at 33 and second at 37.

Yes I agree, seems much older now. If I had my time again, I’d have had children in my late20’s or early 30’s instead of partying the time away & I’d have had 3 at least!

I had my DD at 42, nothing to compare it to but didn’t have any problems & I found it quite easy but just meant I could only have 1!

30s seem average in my son’s school and within my friendship group. I was 23 with DS1 and 32 with DS2. Hoping for a third (and final) ideally when DS2 is about 3 years old (I’d be 35)

First at 39, second at 43. Met husband at 36 so how it was meant to be for us. There's no right age so go for it.

If all goes to plan I’ll have second at 44. Don’t look at your age but your health - if you’re healthy why not.

Had my 2nd just after I turned 37.

I dunno what is average and I think this all depends on your local area and the circles you move in really. I don't think you are 'too old' on my own personal view although I admit I don't think I'd personally be having any more children at those ages. But that's coming from a place of privilege that DH and I are the same age, met each other very young, had no fertility problems etc so we were able to have ours younger. First one at 24 and second one at 27. Almost 30 now and just started ttc no.3 who if all goes to plan will be the last, partly due to age/the fact that we didn't have very small gaps.

I know plenty of people locally who were having children at ages 35-40, it's not unusual here.
