At what age did you had your second DC

DH thinks we are older parents at 40 and 35 respectively. Our friends had DC early in 20s and early 30s. We had our first DC in early 30s and we are planning for second. I have been arguing that we are average age and it's not too late.
Please share your opinions and when you had your second DC

Depending on cohort between schools / footie / dance mums/ work peeps I have been young or old in the group.

Second (and third) at 32.
Pretty average I would think as the average age to have first baby in UK is 29.6 going by the parliment.uk website.

Only 1 or 2 of my friends (and DHs too) had children in their late twenties and it did feel like a massive shock when these babies started arriving!

Second at 27. Third at 32. First at 25.

Most of my friends had kids last half of their 30s. They’re friends I made during the baby days.

Friends my age haven’t had kids yet, generally. So they will be late 30s too probably.

There was a big difference in how hard it was physically and how long I took to recover.

First at 36 (DH 40), second at 44 (DH 48). No regrets about having the second in my 40s. We live west coast USA, and we weren’t an anomaly.

In many ways it’s been easier, as we’re financially better off than the decade previous, so we have a cleaner, part time babysitter to help while we’re working, more funds for activities. It did take longer for me to heal physically after the birth in my 40s, but nothing life shattering.

No, you’re not the average age to have a baby but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s too late.
