To think David Beckham just looks like a standardly attractive man?

All these threads about the Beckham documentary and so many people going on about how 'easy on the eye' / beautiful he is.

I'm not saying he's unattractive but I don't get why he's so objectified?

He just looks like any average bloke to me.

Why the hysteria over his looks?

I’ve seen Thierry Henry when he played for his English club (Arsenal?) years ago coming out of Harvey Nicks side exit with his girlfriend and a friend and their girlfriend. My boyfriend who I was with did a double take and said “he’s in my dream team man!” But, yes, he was good looking in the flesh.

He was pretty average facially when younger but as he’s got older with all the tatts, he’d fit in well with the local druggies who roam the town centre with dogs on a string IMO (minus the designer clothes). Don’t get the appeal at all and if he wasn’t who he is, I doubt anyone would give him a second glance.

DH is 55, regularly works out (and always has) so very fit and muscular, full head of hair and still looks like a an older version of the tanned Greek god he was when I met him so not all men of his age are bald, red faced and obese!

I would literally jump on him if I could.

I get the same feeling when I see Marlon Brando in Street car named desire.

I think in certain parts of England you might see a few who’ve aged like Beckham and a few who’ve aged worse. I was at a party last night and none or maybe one man who was Beckham’s age had aged well, but there was a mix of ages.

He’s never been my cup of tea though, too pretty boy.

I think he’s very attractive but he’s had a lot of grooming and probably some help along the way. They’re a very attractive couple .

He's objectively a very good looking man in good shape, but he doesn't do it for me. That high-pitched little voice and dinky little nose are v. offputting. (See also Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Rob Lowe). I also hate tattoos. As pp have said though, he really doesn't need to worry about what I think!

Gary seems full of charisma & intelligence. Hoddle’s comments were unwise, edited out of context? Gary was possibly a great support to DB at the time, he feels very level headed. DB’s character almost stunted by extreme football focus? Interested as to why Netflix now?

As a young man (20s) he was very attractive.

he’s pretty good looking but not my cup of tea. I tend to go for dark hair and a bit rough though so he’s just not my type I guess.

I don’t think he’s as obscenely attractive as people make out but each to their own. I’ve nothing against him.

I didn't think he was that exciting but I saw him in the flesh, quite close up, and changed my mind.

The way he's coming across in this programme is more attractive than the physical sense. The way he handled that heckling after the world cup. Top guy and well done to both sets of parents for keeping them grounded.

I think he should be blonder. He’s obviously using just for men on the beard and is trying to match the hair and eyebrow up but it doesn’t look natural. A few years back he made that motorcycle documentary and he was salt and pepper grey but now the brown looks too harsh. He’s quite weathered too but I guess that a outside job.

Fair enough to criticize Ferdinand’s character but that’s a horrible comment about his mouth.

I think he looks ok but no.... when he opens his mouth I just cringe. Obviously a good business head but intellectually stunted I'm afraid.

He looks normal on tv nothing special other than he works out and watches his diet but I would imagine his confidence and how he carry's himself make him more attractive in person.

Having seen him briefly in the flesh during the blonde real madrid days he was anything but average IMO. he is gorgeous in real life.
