To think David Beckham just looks like a standardly attractive man?

All these threads about the Beckham documentary and so many people going on about how 'easy on the eye' / beautiful he is.

I'm not saying he's unattractive but I don't get why he's so objectified?

He just looks like any average bloke to me.

Why the hysteria over his looks?

I loved the floppy hair early days before he realised he was handsome and also the blond and hair band stage. Disliked the shaved head era. It’s weird cos I like dark haired men( DH) but the blond look DB was an exception.

I think he is more than pleasant to look at and wears knitwear well.

I seem to be in the minority in thinking he came across as a selfish twat in the doco, though. Endlessly dragging the family here there and everywhere, then fucking off again when they're settled. Shagging someone else cos he got lonely in Spain 🙄

So yeah, nice enough to look at but I wouldn't want to be married to him.

I think he's very good looking-not "average" at all.

I actually thought this about Gary Neville when I watched the doc last night

Has he had teeth done & hair transplant. He’s in very good shape, no Dad bod. That’s the most attractive thing about him. Work ethic too, possibly. Pierce Brosnan, now there’s handsome, cerebral & charming.

Beckham in that suit at the royal wedding was most definitely not average. Maybe I'm unlucky geographically because there's many men walking around like him where I live.

I never fancied him or Tom Cruise but back in the day there weren't as many handsome men. Surgery, jaw filters and more accessible work out routines means more men are looking better..same.with women, its easier to be good looking now. Teens now look way better than teens did in the 70s or 9 even 90s. Procedures are more widely available and accepted like laser, hair implant, jaw fillers, chin implants, dental work, body sculpting, Turkey surgery..

I can't be doing with them try hard 'deep' women who say things like "you know which footballer is REALLY sexy? Peter Beardsley."

Gary Neville has gorgeous eyes and an engaging personality so to me he is way more attractive than Beckham.

David Beckham I just find so BLAND. I don't see beauty. It's like looking at a tub of vanilla ice cream doing an excellent job of being a tub of vanilla ice cream.

I thought Gary Neville was better looking than DB when they were both young. But again, it’s just cause I’m drawn to men with big noses, dark features who don’t look perfect.

I didn't think it at the time, but the footage of him in his Real Madrid days, show he really was gorgeous and you can see why he managed to get all those endorsements.

I don't think he has aged well at all, I think he looks somewhat sleazy now. I agree his voice is a massive turnoff.

He is objectively good looking, and personally I think tattoos work on someone that good looking with a good body.

My theory is the pretty boys never age well. Did anyone believe that Gareth Southgate would ever end up being handsome?!!!!!! He’s aged like a fine wine.

Definitely don't see men who look like him around and I work in a city centre. The physique, hair, jawline, maintenance, fashion etc
Most men his age look like potatoes with eyes.

I’ve just searched him online to get a recent photo of him as I don’t keep up with him. He objectively looks good compared to the average 48 year old British man - who’s most likely balding, overweight, showing signs of ageing, might not take care of appearance etc. He’s a celebrity - of course people will find him attractive and of course he works at being attractive. He’s not my type but I’m not surprised people are attracted to him

I think he’s good looking and he’s not the average bloke I see, I envy you if he’s average in comparison to the blokes in your social circle. Not seen any hysteria either.

He would never have been my type (too Ken doll, tattoos notwithstanding!) but he's also done that Prince William thing where being blond & toothy as a fit young chap doesn't age well.

& there's the voice.

But objectively speaking, of course he's in far better nick than most other pushing 50 British men.

If you wandered around your local Arndale collecting blokes his age in a butterfly net until you had 100 of them, then put their relative attractiveness to the vote, I'm fairly sure Beckham would make top 5. He's in good shape, teeth & hair are presentable.

He is not an average looking bloke, nor is his body average. He is almost 50 and having spent a great deal of time outdoors in the sun for sport, he has signs of aging on his face. If you put him in a line up of 10 average guys, especially of he same age - he would easily be identified as better than average - face and body.

Attractiveness is subjective. You can find him unattractive but generally people would say he has an atractive face and body.

Gary Neville was my teen crush. All the girls swooned over David, but it was all about Gary for me.

Beckham has never done it for me. He's a good looking bloke but that's about it.

He's an attractive man but I could never fancy him. I find his tattoos, his voice and his accent a complete turn off.

I think he is incredibly photogenic and not afraid to pose for model type photographs. But I do think some of the camera work helps him out. That said I think he is a good looking man , just not attractive to me. ( ha ha I bet he is weeping buckets at that 😂 - what did some chap say - I cried all the way to the bank . )
