To think David Beckham just looks like a standardly attractive man?

All these threads about the Beckham documentary and so many people going on about how 'easy on the eye' / beautiful he is.

I'm not saying he's unattractive but I don't get why he's so objectified?

He just looks like any average bloke to me.

Why the hysteria over his looks?

He doesn't particularly do it for me but he's definitely not 'average looking'... as a pp said, many men over 40 look like potatoes.

He's no Brad Pitt but he looks good, would probably look better though if he spent less time in the sun.

He look average compared to Chris Hemsworth or somebody, but compared to Wayne Rooney, or Paul Scholes, his footballing peers of the 1990s, yes he is attractive.

People also used to rave about Ryan Giggs and Thierry Henry. Beckham has just had more longevity, and a wife who works in fashion.

I agree. I think he has aged quite well due to good dental work among other things, but he’s average imo.

I am completely repulsed by all the tattoos so find it hard to see past them.

He's not my cup of tea, but when you compare him to your average bloke knocking in the door of 50 he's doing really well.

I don't think towns and cities are well sticked with men aging that well, whether he's your type or not, objectively he's attractive.

He's definitely above average looks wise, certainly compared to the specimens round here. He's not really my type but it's not like I'd turn him down if I was single and he came asking 😂

I dont find him average, I find him unattractive. Beady eyes and tatoos and a voice to make your ears bleed. Not to mention a cheating arsehole. No thanks

Just watching the Beckham documentary and was thinking how creepy and awkward he was when younger. Better now although I hate the tattoos.

As some have said intelligence and personality make someone attractive and he doesn't really have either.

Nope, I find him pretty unappealing- he always looks smug & age, along with the obvious work he's had done, hasn't been too kind to him.
I don't get the hype about him or his weird, dysfunctional family.

You’re, of course, not wrong. But that could be said of basically any good looking celebrity. There’s always several other people who are all just as attractive out there in the world.
Its all subjective as well.

You cannot seriously argue that the average British man is as attractive as that. I appreciate he may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he is, objectively speaking, hot.

I find him very attractive. Nice face, hair, body and I like his tattoos.

Thierry Henry is charismatically gorgeous, though. Full of personality and charm. Beckham is like blank slate of mothing.

There was a time, 15-20 years ago maybe, when he was hot af. His body was amazing, and I like the tattoos.

It definitely looks average to me. Not my cup of tea. However my friend stood next to him while he was shopping in the Trafford Centre many moons ago. She was converted to a fan, as she said in person he looked tall and handsome and had 'the X factor'
