To ask about hidden gratitude?

I've literally just had a pop up box about something to do with hidden gratitudes but it vanished before I'd had chance to read it in its entirety or take in what it was for. I can't see any threads about it but it looked like a new feature, has anyone else had this pop up?

Interesting. I hadn't thought of it that way.

I kind of liked the fact that Mumsnet is one of the few sites where threads don't become a 'who is the most popular girl in the class' competition. I guess this new feature is a compromise of sorts.

However, I think it could make me a bit lazy. I've just been on a thread and ordinarily I would post a 💯 to those I agree with, but have just thanked them instead.

Very rarely there is an occasion where a poster is getting their arse handed to them on a plate and i'm too much of a wimp to put my head over the parapet and wade in on their side.

I suppose that's where this comes in? A secret thanks.

Yes, I think a secret thanks would be a good boost on some threads, when you're feeling like a fox amongst the hounds.

I have thanked people who want the quote button back where they can find it. No reason to tank people for anything else. I most certainly am not thanking the eperson that messed up the quote button, that would be a fuck off button for me.

Although to me, the clapping hands look a bit sarcastic!

Like every other big feature release on Mumsnet (looking at you, Edit button) it's not on the app. So I had no clue what people were talking about until someone put up screen shots. As usual.
